Everything About Anthem So Far

In the weeks since Anthem™ made its dramatic reemergence at EA PLAY 2018, we’ve thrown a lot of info at you, the community. So we wanted to do a little bit of a roundup on all the big moments that you might have missed in this big crazy month.

Anthem at EA PLAY

Anthem came out of the gate strong, with a stunning new trailer and an interview with some of the developers that are bringing this world to life. We also laid out some of the main features of the game – the huge enemies, the gorgeous world, and of course those spectacular Javelins. We announced that there will be no loot boxes and no pay-for-power in Anthem, with an ever-changing world that will continue to feel fresh and challenging the longer you play in it. And for those of you who absolutely can’t wait to suit up, you can don your own Ranger Javelin in Facebook Camera.

Interview with Mike Gamble

Our own Daniel Steinholtz sat down with Lead Producer Mike Gamble to discover how Anthem represents a fresh chapter in the story of BioWare™. Mike opened up about how they went about bringing their legendary eye for single-player storytelling into a world where you share your adventures with friends. Plus, he introduced us to some of the characters you’ll get to know and shared some insight behind how they designed the city-fortress of Fort Tarsis.

E3 Best Action Game Winner

We were incredibly honored to have Anthem garner five nominations from the Game Critics Awards for the Best of E3 2018. We even took home Best PC Game and Best Action Game in a very competitive year! We took the opportunity to release the full, 20-minute gameplay demo that the judges saw at E3, so you’ll see the award-winning action yourself.

The demo shows off your mobile base, the Strider, along with your pit crew and three of the Javelins in action (Colossus, Ranger, and Storm). Lead Producer Ben Irving narrates as a team of Freelancers silence an unstable Shaper relic, then delve deep into a cavern to take on a hideous Swarm Tyrant and her soldiers.

Mark Darrah and the World’s Greatest AMAAAA

If you’ve not yet seen BioWare Executive Producer Mark Darrah’s Twitter, he’s spent an incredible amount of time and energy responding to questions about Anthem. We created two different roundups, and we’ve only scratched the surface. He even jumped on our Twitch channel with Game Director Jonathan Warner to answer questions directly. If you’ve still got questions about Anthem, head on over on Twitter and ask! Just make sure you do a search for your question in advance, because there is a good chance that it has been answered – perhaps several times.
