The “App Store Rewind 2011” list hit this morning, and Dead Space HD was named the iPad Game of the Year in the U.S. and Canada. It was a great holiday gift for EA Mobile, especially for our IronMonkey Studios who’ve spent the last year with visions of necromorphs dancing in their heads.
We have to admit, even we are impressed by how amazingly scary and fun Dead Space HD is on iPad. The IronMonkey team worked closely with Visceral Games to create a unique story and gameplay experience for iOS gamers. The game features a fully voice-acted stereo soundtrack, plus orchestrated score and sound effects, so you can hear every footstep in the dark empty passages (hint: it isn’t Santa) and feel the tension build as you are pulled deeper into danger.
And as if it weren’t scary enough, we decided to update the game specifically for iPad 2 so that the graphics and special effects are that much more hair-raising.
To celebrate the iPad Game of the Year award, we’re making Dead Space HD for iPad available for half the price as part of the EA Daily Deals sale happening. Check out the EA Daily Deals site on Thursday morning for this offer. Throughout December, be sure to check the EA Daily Deals site each day for great deals to enjoy throughout the holidays.
