Several years ago, EA launched Play4Free.com to house some of the most innovative online free-to-play games that the industry had ever seen.  Today, our titles like Need for Speed World, Battlefield Heroes, Command & Conquer Tiberium Alliances and more are thriving with vibrant communities nearly 45 million users strong, and ongoing content updates giving players fresh new experiences.  Free-to-play online games have become one of the fastest-growing segments of the games industry today, and we’re excited to announce the next phase of our growth today with our partners at Origin.

You already know Origin as your destination for the latest and greatest in gaming content from some of the world’s best video game publishers, including EA. Today, we are starting to integrate EA Play4Free with Origin, and introducing Origin Free To Play as the result.  Moving forward, you’ll find all your favorite EA free to play games at www.origin.com/free.

Why change to Origin Free To Play? The main reason is convenience for players – Origin now becomes your single destination for paid downloadable PC games and free-to-play games alike. Sign on to Origin to play the latest and greatest expansion pack in the Battlefield franchise, or jump into a Need for Speed World race. That’s the beauty of integrating on Origin – all your gaming content in one place, and the choice is yours what and where you want to play today.

What changes for our players?  Other than a new destination URL, nothing about the games has changed – these are still the premium quality games that are free to download and play, where you control when you want to pay and how much.  More games will be introduced here over time as well, and we’re excited to tell you more about those in the future.  You don’t even have to worry about creating a new account or changing passwords; just keep playing all your favorite free-to-play games using the same Origin ID you’ve been signing in with previouslyfor all your other PC games on Origin.

Starting later this week, Play4Free.com will route you directly to Origin Free To Play. We hope you enjoy having the convenience of all your games in one location, and we look forward to seeing you in the action. We’re always looking for feedback, so whether it’s a question, a general comment or a specific suggestion about Origin Free To Play, please leave us a comment below.
