How to Aim: “The most important part of this game is aiming your shots correctly,” says Patel. “You may think you can just step up and swing on every shot, but there’s so much more to getting to the green without landing in the sand.”
At the start of every shot you need to consider the factors that affect the shot.
These factors include:
· Wind
· Elevation of the target
· Lie of the ball
· The amount of roll out you think the ball will have after it lands
Rory McIlroy PGA Tour executive producer Brent Nielson adds: “While the white aiming mark will show you where you are currently aimed, the blue aiming arc will show you where your ball will actually be going, taking into account all of those elements such as wind, lie and elevation.”
When you take all of these factors into account and aim correctly, you put yourself in the best position to be successful.
