There are tons of EA studios located all around the world, each specializing in different games or services.
We’ll take you on studio tours to help you see behind the scenes with your favorite titles.
EA teams have been in Austin since 1992. In August of 2016, we brought several teams together under one roof to create the force that is now EA Austin.
BioWare, Red Crow, and a subset of the EA SPORTS Tiburon development team, as well as the EA Help and EA Technology teams, are all located on a campus in Austin’s Northwest tech hub. That’s about a 25-minute drive to downtown Austin.
Austin is known as the "Live Music Capital of the World.” Festivals like South by Southwest, Austin City Limits and Fun Fun Fun Fest make music lovers flock to Austin, the city with the most music venues per capita in the USA.
Austin’s unofficial slogan is “Keep Austin Weird,” which goes hand in hand with the fun and imaginative vibe of the studio.
The building is spread across two floors and four suites, hosting about 750 employees.
BioWare Austin is the creator of the critically acclaimed Star Wars®: The Old Republic™, one of the most successful MMOs in the world.
BioWare is currently working on a brand-new IP called Anthem, launching Fall of 2018.
Red Crow Studios is an important piece of EA Mobile and the EA Austin campus.
The Red Crow team is best known for creating the mobile title The Simpsons Tapped Out.
The Austin EA SPORTS team partners with EA Tiburon in Florida to develop the latest Madden NFL and NBA LIVE games. The Austin team works on critical franchise features for the Madden and NBA Live console products. The team also helped Madden migrate to the Frostbite engine.
The EADP Data team and EA IT teams are hard at work in Austin too. The EADP Tech Ops team is responsible for the launch of several game titles, and their main goal is to improve quality and increase speed.
EA’s North American customer contact center, EA Help, is also in Austin where we support players from seven different channels - phone, chat, email, EA Help, Answers HQ, Facebook and Twitter.
There are tons of onsite perks for employees including basketball courts, sand volleyball courts, table tennis, a soccer field, hiking trails and onsite daycare.
At EA, we value being a good corporate citizen and community member. Our global Outreach program focuses on 3 areas: Education, Inclusion and Community.
EA Austin is involved in several local outreach programs, including one where the studio hosts local digital multimedia high school teachers. After shadowing a Technical Artist, two VFX Artists, and a team that had created a “3D scanner” for EA, Mr. Hall (shown below) incorporated his new-found knowledge into his classroom.
EA is committed to supporting a more inclusive environment for everyone, and is proud to partner with organizations who share this same view. EA Austin recently hosted Girlstart at a local high school, giving forty girls the opportunity to attend game development workshops and try their hand at designing EA's next game!
The teams regularly get together for social events such as ice cream float day, outdoor picnics, and trivia. The annual Summerfest is always a hit, too, with teams getting together to watch a baseball game, play some games, and hang out.
