Our CEO, Andrew Wilson, shared the following note with EA employees today:

Our people are the lifeblood of Electronic Arts.  We are united to Inspire the World to Play, and in our commitment to the strategic pillars of Players First, Digital Transformation and One Team.  But all of you are the company.  We are defined by our amazing teams that make extraordinary things possible each and every day.

So I’m thrilled to announce today our new Chief People Officer of EA, Mala Singh.  Mala will join my executive leadership team, and her first day will be October 31, 2016.

As we searched for a new leader in this central role for our organization, we knew that we needed someone who shared our ideals, understood our culture, and would push us to be fast and disruptive.  Mala was the overwhelmingly clear choice.  She is someone who uniquely embodies every one of our foundational values at EA – Pioneering, Creativity, Passion, Determination, Learning and Teamwork – on a personal level, and as leader and builder of talented teams.

Mala brings a rare blend of qualities: broadly experienced, deeply committed to our people, and knowledgeable of the talent and commitment it takes to power a digitally-driven organization.  She joins us having spent the last three years as the Chief People Officer at Minted in San Francisco, where she helped define their culture and grow both creative and technical teams to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth start-up environment.  Of course, some of you have worked with Mala before at EA – prior to her time with Minted, she spent nearly six years in different HR leadership roles here with us, starting as our HR lead for Asia Pacific and ultimately serving as the vice president of HR for the EA Labels, our former studio structure.

Her passion is contagious, her conviction is unfaltering, and her style is direct and of high-integrity.  I couldn’t have hoped for a more inspiring and experienced leader – and an amazing cultural fit – to take this critical position for our company.  I look forward to Mala challenging all of us to think differently as we move forward into the next phase of growth for Electronic Arts.

As Mala joins, I want to once again give a heartfelt thank you to Gaby Toledano for her dedication to EA and her leadership on the executive team for more than a decade.  Gaby has helped guide our organization through significant transformation during her tenure here, and we have been fortunate to work alongside such a champion for all of you on the EA team.

Please join me in congratulating Mala on “coming home” to Electronic Arts!
