F1® Mobile Racing — Feature Recap

The FIA Formula One World Championship™ has already crossed the midpoint of its 2022 season, and as 40 million players continue to enjoy F1® Mobile Racing for the remainder of the season we thought this would be a good time to recap some key features that have been introduced into the game since the season began earlier this year.

2022 Season Update

This year saw the beginning of a new era for F1®, and with it, F1® Mobile Racing followed suit. New cars, teams, and a driver line-up reshuffle set the stage for the 2022 season. In addition, the team introduced multiple changes into the game to adapt to the new rules and regulations, hence why the R&D system changed. New parts were introduced that fit the rules and regulations to keep players engaged in improving their cars and finding the optimal setup for their driving style. With the 2022 Season Update release the Career Mode, which had been recently introduced with the previous season update, also saw some exciting changes to provide a more engaging structure.

Updated Car Models

As the F1® season progressed, so did the cars of all teams. As a result, the F1® Mobile Racing team kept working closely with data provided by the F1 teams to update the in-game car models to reflect their real-world counterparts more accurately. In a recent update, all of the official team cars received a facelift to match their real-world counterparts.

New Circuits

This year we introduced four new circuit venues to the game, all of which were brand new to F1® Mobile Racing. We began with Algarve International Circuit in Portimão, Portugal, the undulating Portuguese circuit that quickly captured F1® fans' hearts. The following months saw Autodromo Internazionale Enzo E Dino Ferrari in Imola, Italy, the historic Italian circuit returning to the F1® calendar. The Jeddah Corniche Circuit was up next, a brand-new circuit to F1® under the night sky of Saudi Arabia. Finally, to round up the new circuits Miami International Autodrome joined the roster – another brand-new venue to F1® – this hot new venue made its debut into the world of F1® at the Miami Gardens, with its centrepiece being the Hard Rock Stadium that can be seen from virtually anywhere as you lap the circuit.

New Race Elements

The newest and latest addition to how the gameplay in F1® Mobile Racing has evolved is the introduction of various elements that affect the racing dynamics. We first introduced the ability to use the Energy Recovery System (ERS), a system that stores converted energy gained from braking that can be used at key moments for a short boost of speed. This was first unveiled in a special event allowing players to get a taste of this feature and provide the team with valuable feedback for further balancing and a better racing experience.

More recently, slipstreaming was also added as a racing element, a technique commonly used in all of motorsport. This feature is currently only implemented in Career Mode, Event Mode and Showdown races, as we continue to tweak and balance this feature to ensure fair and competitive racing.

The most recent feature, and the one our players seem to be most excited about, is the addition of wet weather. A brand-new feature for F1® Mobile Racing, the wet weather conditions introduces a unique dynamic for players to tackle, bringing a new challenge to engage and test their driving skills. Experience racing the world's fastest motorsport in the most challenging of conditions on a growing selection of circuits and see if you can handle the challenge.

Livery Editor

Coming in earlier this year and still as part of the 2021 season update, we introduced a livery editor. Giving players the freedom to express their creativity by utilising an array of tools and readymade decals to create their own liveries on the Technical Regulations car.
