Tell us a little bit about yourself...
Hola, I’m Isabel and joined Criterion last year as a Development Director although I have been at EA for over 4 years now.
I’m a Spanish/German, in the UK for the past 15 years. I currently live in Guildford with my 2 children, 7 and 12 years old, they keep me pretty busy. I love spending time with friends and family, going for long walks and generally keeping active but I also love getting creative giving new live to old furniture, sewing or crocheting. I am a big Pixar and Ghibli movie fan and have been known to go watch Frozen at the cinema by myself without the kids as it’s lame apparently .... I should probably let it go!
What does your role entail?
I absolutely love my job as a DD at Criterion. I am all about helping people and that’s mainly what I do, I support our teams to allow everyone to spend as much time focusing on their craft without having to worry too much about the other boring stuff like processes, chasing blockers, etc (I love it!) A big part of that is wrangling producers and designers who always reach for the moon and it’s our job as DDs to tell them if we can do that in the time and budget we have been given, they hate the word ‘compromise’.
Your favourite game of all time?
Zelda Breath of the Wild, played it with my daughter and we had an absolute blast!
