At EA, we believe we are at our best when we collectively come together to celebrate all talent, support one another to bring our best selves to the important work we do, and inspire each other to deliver the best experiences possible to our players that entertain, connect, and inspire content creation in, around, and beyond our games.

This past Women’s History Month, thanks to a span of efforts across EA including that of our remarkable global collective known as the Women’s Ultimate Team (WUT), we took these philosophies and ideas into action. From volunteering efforts across the world, mentorship and networking opportunities, and behind-the-scenes tours, to game development workshops for youth, resume reviews, celebrations of technologies being used to power inclusion and so much more.

Here is a collection of highlights from this past month.

“In our Women’s Ultimate Team, we are a community of over 2,800 women and allies, united by a shared passion and purpose. Women’s History Month offered a special opportunity to connect hearts and minds across more than 20 global chapters. With so many thoughtful events, programs, and speakers, it was a time to share our stories, learn from one another, offer recognition, and grow together. This month served as a reminder of the incredible people here at EA and the impacts we can have when we uplift each other.”

Supporting each other around the world

WUT is an internal group within EA of more than 2,800 women and allies connected across 20-plus global chapters. Through united passion and connection, our remarkable WUT members created and implemented a plethora of workshops, events, speaking engagements, networking opportunities, and more.

One area of keen interest was in technology. EA is home to brilliant minds working on cutting-edge tools, and this WHM offered the opportunity for our leaders and teams in these spaces to showcase their insights. This included discussions on how to engage with AI and a workshop on how technology is being used to power inclusion in games using AI and machine learning.

Maxis and The Sims team offered a behind-the-scenes look into the various careers and work being done on The Sims 4, our genre-defining masterpiece that has captured the hearts and minds of millions of players worldwide.

Networking opportunities were also abound in Vancouver, Los Angeles, Stockholm, Helsinki, Madrid, Malaysia, Edmonton, Shanghai, Montreal, and more, all of them offering key relationship building opportunities.

“Here at EA we work to ensure inclusion in games, featuring a variety of athletes and historically accurate figures in storylines and gameplay. We are consistently hosting events and discussions that highlight all contributions, including women’s, to sports and gaming, encouraging ongoing dialogue and awareness.”

Driving impact for our communities

During WHM, we celebrated and invited our people to come together to make a positive impact in the communities where we work, live, and play.

We hosted students from local schools in Stockholm for a day of learning and connection with employees, which included panel conversations about careers in gaming and entertainment. The students were inspired to hear about pathways to the industry and got to create their own game.

And all around the globe we worked to provide mentorship and networking opportunities for all, including young women, like engaging employee volunteers to review resumes and record their career stories to inspire and support people entering the workforce or making a career transition.

At our Vancouver studio, we welcomed about 70 people from several local STEAM-focused organizations for a “Women Behind EA SPORTS” event. We heard from inspiring leaders, gave attendees a tour of the campus, and held a panel discussion and networking session where we shared advice for aspiring individuals in tech and gaming.

“By fostering an environment of inclusivity and empowerment, we continue to champion the voices for all, including women in technology and gaming.”

Taking these lessons with us

As Women’s History Month comes to a close, the impact of our initiatives resonates deeply.

By fostering an environment of inclusivity and empowerment, we continue to champion the voices for all, including women in technology and gaming. The connections made and skills shared during this month are incredibly impactful. Rich backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives across our global workforce are the foundation of EA's culture of learning and openness. It is through this important lens that our people create stories and deliver amazing experiences that resonate with audiences around the world and make an impact in the communities where we live, work and play.

Together, we will carry these lessons forward, nurturing the next generation of leaders and innovators. We will continue to build a future where everyone has the opportunity to thrive and contribute to the vibrant tapestry of our global community.
