See the Storm javelin in action and discover what it can do.
Mtashed showcases the devastating Storm javelin and how best to unleash its elemental powers in this video.
Whether you’re looking to freeze, electrocute, or set your opponents on fire in Anthem™, the Storm javelin will get the job done. It easily dominates the vertical space on the map and is an excellent choice for team play, especially given the ease of chaining combos with your teammates.
The Storm can remain in the air during combat, giving pilots the ability to easily see multiple enemies, where they’re spawning at, as well as raining down powerful elemental attacks from above. All javelins’ jets will eventually overheat, but the Storm’s do so at a much slower rate giving it far more air time while hovering.
Of course, eventually, you’ll have come down to the ground. Fortunately, the Storm has an amazing dodge to get out of harm’s way, and its Frost Shards can freeze an enemy in place and keep them from attacking you.
This javelin comes with three categories of gear:
Blast Seals – Lightning Strike, Ice Storm, Flame Burst, Ice Blast, and Living Flame
Focus Seals – Frost Shards, Burning Orb, Shock Burst, Glacial Spear, and Arc Burst
Support Seals – Wind Wall and Quickening Field
Want to create a particularly nasty combo? Start with Shock Burst, which sends out a bouncing orb of crackling electricity that can even hit targets behind cover. Once your enemies have been hit they’ll be primed and ready for your Lightning Strike with some of the highest base damage for the Storm. For more information on using combos, see our Advanced Combat Guide.
The Storm also has some of the best area of effect abilities. Its ultimate, Elemental Storm, includes three devastating storms of different elements capable of taking out large groups of enemies. Not only does it do burst damage, but it can also chain status effects to nearby enemies.
It’s important to point out that despite its incredible strengths, the Storm doesn’t have the best defensive capabilities. Choosing this javelin means you will have a lower base health pool, so running directly into the middle of the fight is probably not a great idea. Remember, this javelin is at its best when it can basically bring “death from above,” so keep your distance. Especially vertical distance.
Mastering your movement and abilities in the Storm will make you an asset to any team you play with. If you and your friends want to complete Strongholds at some of the higher difficulties, this javelin is always a good choice.
