Getting Started in FIFA 20 Career Mode

FIFA 20 Career Mode gives you the chance to shape your club to your vision as you guide them to the pinnacle of the game in the most authentic Career Mode to date.
From setting up a scouting network to managing your players’ morale, here are some tips for getting started and setting your club up to dominate for years to come.
Scouting
A strong scouting network sets your club up for long-term success, enabling you to identify both experienced and young talent to improve your squad.
To set up your scouting network, go into the Global Transfer Network from the Transfers tab in the Career Mode menu. From there, you can set up to six scouting instructions for various positions and attributes of players that you’re searching for. Your scouts will then search their assigned nations for players that fit the criteria you’ve chosen and report back on any matches for you to review.
You can have a total of six scouts within your club, and having the full number of scouts enables you to increase your scouting coverage and uncover more potential new signings for your team. The higher a scout’s experience and judgment rating, the better the players they will find.
Scouting players in detail enables you to find out the player’s value and asking price before entering negotiations.
Transfers
Buying players from the Transfer Market is the quickest way to improve your squad in Career Mode.
To sign a player, shortlist them from your scouting reports or search directly by name before adding them to the Transfer Hub and entering negotiations with the selling club and the player. Shortlisting the player will also give you a warning if you have competition from other clubs.
Make sure to monitor players who are approaching the ends of their contracts to sign players for reduced transfer fees!
If you’re short of funds, consider selling unwanted players to increase your Transfer and Wage budgets.
Training
Training sessions allow you to develop players at no cost to your budget. You can train up to five players using various skill games that increase their attributes depending on how they perform in the drill.
Maximise your players' development and increase their transfer value by making sure to use every opportunity to set up training sessions. Higher ratings in harder difficulty drills will give players’ attributes the highest boost, and you can repeat skill games up to three times to help your chances of getting a higher rating.
Training young, high potential players as often as possible lets you benefit from accelerated development while they are in the early stages of their career.
Player Morale
Player Morale is a brand new feature in FIFA 20 Career Mode and is influenced by a number of factors, including:
- How much playing time a player is getting in relation to their squad role
- The more important a player’s squad role, the more playing time they will expect to receive and the more unhappy they’ll be if they don’t receive it.
- A player’s wage and their remaining contract length
- Make sure to monitor players who are entering the final year of their contract and any players who are dissatisfied with their wage to negotiate new deals.
- Player chats with the manager
- Make sure to respond when players come to you with questions or concerns. Reassuring them or praising them will give them a morale boost.
- Your responses to answers during new interactive press conferences
- How you reply can affect both team and individual morale positively or negatively, so choose your responses carefully when facing the media.
You can find out the things that are impacting a player's morale from the Squad Hub. Make sure to solve any issues and give any unhappy players a boost by replying to their conversations with you and praising them during your press conferences to ensure they perform at their best.
