Hello Friends,
My name is Justin “HANDSWARD” Patel and I am a developer for Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 12: The Masters. I am here to tell you about my favourite online feature, Live Tournaments. This feature gives you the ability to play in tournaments online against people from all around the world. Tournaments are set up in each difficulty every day, giving you every opportunity to find an event that suits your style.
This is the Live Tournaments main menu. There are six event channels in Live Tournaments. Each channel contains a different type of event.
2011 Masters
Play in the 2011 Masters right from your home. During the Masters tournament, the live scores will be fed into our Live Tournament leaderboard giving you a chance to compete against the pros at the 2011 Masters. Historic Masters
Play in Masters events from the past. In the Historic Masters channel, we will offer a different year of the Masters each week. You will re-live the excitement of each year and at the same time, become a part of Masters history. See if you can beat the amazing four round score Tiger Woods shot in 1997. Try and stop Zach Johnson from winning in 2007. All the excitement is there for you to take part in. Daily.
Daily events are 24 hour events that are open to anyone in the world. There is a daily event in each difficulty every day. Each daily is a single-try event, where you only get one chance to play. Once you start a round you must complete it or you will be locked out of the event. This prevents users from playing several times until they get a good score or restarting when a mistake is made. These events are the same as daily events, except users are placed into a tier of like-skilled competition. Our skill points system gives you a rating for every round you play in Live Tournaments. These ratings combine into an overall rating that determines what tier you are placed into. Weekly.
Weekly events are four round events that last for seven days. There is a weekly event in each difficulty every week. Weekly events are limited to four round submissions, meaning you can only submit each round once. Once you have submitted all four of your rounds you are locked out of the tournament. Play the Pros.
Just like the 2011 Masters, real PGA TOUR events will be available for you to play. The leaderboards will be the same as real life and are updated in real time as the event is being played.
