In Anthem, you are a Freelancer – a member of an elite group of javelin pilots called to protect humanity from the dangers of this chaotic world. And while there’s no shortage of missions that you’ll be asked to take on, you can also venture out within the game and explore the world at your own pace with Freeplay – where you are free to discover new challenges and secrets along the way.

Always Vigilant

Venturing out into the world, even without a specific mission, still allows you to familiarize yourself with the landscape that is home to the numerous battles you’ll encounter. World exploration is an opportunity to master new skills that can allow you to better-traverse the world of Anthem or defeat your next enemy. Stay vigilant, Freelancer. While exploring the world of Anthem during Freeplay you may run into an advancing horde of Scars, or be tasked with silencing a shaper relic that’s become unstable.

Stronger Together

Just because you’re roaming the world at your own speed doesn’t mean you need to be on your own. As on missions, you can be join up with other lancers to tackle whatever challenges you find. Whether joining up with friends or using the matchmaking system, combining your strength with other Freelancers is quick and beneficial for all.

Rewarding Your Efforts

While you are exploring during Freeplay, you can pick up loot by taking down enemies and completing objectives. Deliberately scour the land for items and materials that can help you level up your gear and strengthen you for your next mission. Don’t forget to take to the skies or dive below sea level to do a thorough check for treasures that may be hidden. Acquired items are unique to each player, so don’t worry about having to share with your teammates.The level of the items you’ll find are tied to your pilot level, so even in Freeplay you can find powerful gear and weaponry that can be as good or better than your equipped items.

Whether you’re delving deep into a difficult Stronghold or just roaming the world of Anthem in Freeplay, the world of Anthem needs you, Freelancer. And no matter how far you advance in your skills, there will always be a new horizon to chase and new challenges to overcome.
