HEROES OF THE REPUBLIC

Within a galaxy divided by war, Jedi Knights like Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker led legions of clone troopers into the Clone Wars. Due in part to a lack of military leaders in the Grand Army of the Republic, Padawans were trained in the crucible of combat and forged into military commanders, while Jedi Knights and Masters were made generals. Though this was unlike the peacekeeping ways of the Jedi, it was deemed necessary to maintain order.

Behind the conflicts and politics of the Clone Wars, a single evil Sith Lord – Darth Sidious – rose to power. Known outwardly as Sheev Palpatine, Chancellor of the Republic, he manipulated both sides and almost all the events that transpired were in accordance with his master plan.

As the final hours of the Clone Wars drew to their close, Darth Sidious’s plan for control came to fruition.

THE DARK TIMES BEGIN

“A young Jedi named Darth Vader, who was a pupil of mine until he turned to evil, helped the Empire hunt down and destroy the Jedi Knights.”

A group of Jedi Masters, led by Mace Windu, attempted to arrest the Chancellor upon learning of his true Sith identity. None were a match for him and only Master Windu was able to hold him at bay for a time. Windu was ultimately defeated by Darth Sidious after being disarmed by Anakin Skywalker, who had been manipulated by Sidious for many years and lured to his side.

As Anakin Skywalker fell into darkness, Darth Vader rose from the shadows in his place. Branding the Jedi traitors to the Republic, Darth Sidious executed Order 66, a secret protocol coded into the neural chips of the Republic army’s clone troopers to eliminate the Jedi. In an instant, they turned on their Jedi generals across the galaxy and brought them down. Darth Vader, tasked with the destruction of the Jedi Order, marched on the Jedi Temple with the clone troopers and wiped out all within it.

Darth Sidious manipulated the Senate into believing that the Jedi had attempted to murder him to seize control of the Republic. He used their fear to reform the Republic into the first Galactic Empire with him as its Emperor.

Scattered across the stars, the last surviving Jedi went into hiding, concealing their identities and abilities from the Empire that branded them as traitors, with the final words of the Jedi Order ringing in their ears. . . .

HOPE

“This is Master Obi-Wan Kenobi. I regret to report that both our Jedi Order and the Republic have fallen, with the dark shadow of the Empire rising to take their place. This message is a warning and a reminder for any surviving Jedi:

Trust in the Force.

Do not return to the Temple. That time has passed, and our future is uncertain. We will each be challenged – our trust, our faith, our friendships – but we must persevere, and in time, a new hope will emerge. May the Force be with you. Always.”

During this dark time, in the far reaches of the galaxy, a young man named Cal Kestis conceals himself in the industrial yards of Bracca. Though he tries to forget his past, he cannot escape that he was a Padawan of the fallen Jedi Order. The eyes of the Empire are everywhere, and their fist is slowly tightening around the galaxy. With the Inquisitors – Imperial Jedi hunters – always on the search for hidden Jedi, nowhere is safe for him after he is seen using his Force powers.

Now, it is time for him to rise and embrace his destiny. Soon, it will be time for him to become a Jedi.
