UFC 4 Kicks Tips & tricks

Learn how to improve your skills in UFC 4

Roundhouse Kick

Roundhouse Kicks are heavy damage strikes that can end fights if landed flush. Roundhouse Kicks also cost a lot of stamina and can significantly decrease your Maximum Stamina if you fail to land it. Try not to overuse the Roundhouse Kick, it is easily countered with simple Head Movement or distance management. You also have very high Strike Vulnerability when throwing this kick.

Inputs:

^LB^ + ^A^ or ^B^

Body Roundhouse Kick

Body Roundhouse Kicks when landed flush can cause significant Body Damage to your opponent. It also eats up your opponent's Maximum Stamina. Becoming predictable with your Body Roundhouse Kicks means your opponent can easily catch them. See Catch Kicks in Striking Defence.

Inputs:

^LT^ + ^A^ or ^B^

Leg Kicks

Leg Kicks are brutally punishing when landed. Leg Kick damage does not recover over time. So landing a Leg Kick at the start of the fight might not mean much, but they can add up quickly. Leg Kicks can also be checked easily, which causes significant damage to the thrower. Becoming predictable with your Leg Kicks could lead to you being hurt badly.

Inputs:

^A^ or ^B^

Spinning Kicks

Throwing advanced kicks like the Lead 360 Tornado Kick and the Jumping Switch Kick looks cool, but can cost you the fight if thrown too often or they miss their intended target. Be very careful when throwing these type of strikes as your Strike Vulnerability is very high. Grapple Advantage is in favour of your opponent leaving you open for a takedown.

Inputs:

Lead Tornado Kick: ^RB^+^X_HOLD^+^A_HOLD^\nBack Spinning Heel Kick: ^LB^+^RB^+^Y_HOLD^\nView your Fighter Moves from Game Help inside the Pause Menu during Gameplay.

Cage Kicks

Cage Strikes can be performed by fighters like Anthony Pettis or Jose Aldo. All Cage Strikes require you to move either your back, your side, or the front of your body against the cage when you input the strike and you must be stationary when attempting them.

Inputs:

Opponent Back Against Cage Strikes\nFlying Knee: ^LB^+^RT^+^B^\nSpinning Kick: ^LB^+^RB^+^A^ \n\nParallel with Cage Strikes\nShowtime Kick: ^LB^+^RB^+^B^

Pushing for Distance

A good way to deter a kickboxer is to close the distance and pressure them. You can counter this by pushing your opponent. You can push a fighter who is attempting to crowd you with ^RT^+^X^+^A^ (^Y^+^B^ for Southpaw). Pushing your opponent can combine with a Roundhouse Kick.

Inputs:

^RT^+^X^+^A^(^Y^+^B^ for Southpaw)
