Notice to Parents

The following Notice to Parents (“Notice”) is directed to parents and guardians, and presented when they create an EA Account for their child. It is a supplement to EA’s Privacy and Cookie Policy. We consider a “child” as anyone below the minimum age of digital consent in their country or territory.

EA recognizes a special obligation to keep you, as a parent or guardian, informed of your children’s online activity so that you can make the best decisions for your child. By creating an EA Account for your child, you will allow them to enjoy our games on your preferred gaming platform.

If you are playing on a console (such the PlayStation®5 console, Xbox Series X|S, or Nintendo Switch™), your child may have the opportunity for online play and participation in social features. You can enable these features through the parental controls associated with the child account on your console, or they may have been enabled already by default. Such features include:

  • text and voice chat;
  • creation of console-based friendships; and
  • sharing user created content (UGC) with other players.

Your console’s parental controls may also allow your child to make purchases. Please review the Player and Parental Tools available for your console and adjust your settings, as appropriate.

If you are playing on the EA app, it does not currently support social features (such as text or voice chat) for children. However, some games may allow multiplayer modes, to the extent that they do not allow children to reveal personal information about themselves.

EA will process information about your child’s gameplay as described in our Privacy and Cookie Policy.  Please note that your child’s communications and social interactions are subject to moderation, including monitoring, recording, review and retention of their voice or text communications. Further details are available in our Privacy and Cookie Policy (Section 2(D)), and User Agreement (Section 6).

We may contact you through your email address if your child forgets their password or we have important information to provide to you regarding the EA Account or our games. We will not use your email address for marketing, to the extent it was only provided as part of child account creation. However, if you also have an adult EA Account with the same email address, you may receive marketing materials and account communications in that context.

If you would like to review or update the information collected about the child account, or request to have your child's information deleted, please visit our My Privacy Rights portal for instructions on submitting your request. Deletion of your child’s information may result in their inability to access EA products and services associated with their account.

We will notify your child when they become old enough to register for an EA Account with fewer restrictions.
