Delve deeper into F1® 22’s driver ratings database
Compare F1® drivers’ ratings in our comprehensive online database.

Choosing your teammate is perhaps one of the most important decisions you’ll make when embarking on your F1® 22 My Team journey. Regardless of whether your starting position is as a Newcomer, Midway Challenger, or Championship Contender, with all this prestigious talent at your fingertips, knowing who will deliver the most for your dough is crucial. Here’s where F1® 22’s driver ratings come in. For the first time ever, you can compare F1® drivers’ Experience (EXP), Racecraft (RAC), Awareness (AWA), Pace (PAC) and Overall Rating (RTG) in our comprehensive online database.
The Ratings
Here’s a quick explanation of each of F1® 22’s ratings:
- Experience: This is based on the number of race starts a driver has over the course of their career.
- Racecraft: The driver’s ability to work their way through the pack and finish in a higher position than where they started.
- Awareness: The less time spent in the steward’s room will help drivers here. Real-world punishments will impact the score in this category.
- Pace: Benefits those who get closest to the fastest qualifying and race lap times. A driver beating their teammate is also taken into consideration.
- Rating: The combination of the previous four ratings. This overall rating will go up and down throughout the season based on performance.
Explore the extensive, brand-new driver database here. The first ratings reveal takes us up to and including this year’s Monaco Grand Prix, and we’ll be updating the in-game numbers every few races. This season, we have made some changes to the algorithms so that the ratings are more geared towards a driver’s recent form rather than their history, although both data sets are still used to create the final values. We’ve also enlisted the expertise of Anthony Davidson, David Croft, and Alex Jacques, who aim to look beyond the numbers, separate the man from the machine, and tweak our ratings where appropriate.
Driver Highlights
Let’s take a look at some of F1® 22’s starting statistics:
George Russell – Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team
Top-five finishes in every race this season have earned George Russell the nickname Mr Consistency. The Mercedes driver has finished all but one race ahead of his teammate, quite a feat when that’s seven-time World Champion, Sir Lewis Hamilton. Despite having less Experience than other drivers sitting at the sharp end of the grid, Russell’s Overall Rating starts at 90.
Zhou Guanyu – Alfa Romeo F1 Team ORLEN
It was a successful start to the season for China’s first Formula 1® driver and rookie, Zhou Guanyu. Finishing in the top 10 at the Bahrain opener netted him points on his first-ever outing in the sport. As this year’s only rookie, his Experience is understandably lower than his peers, sitting at 47, but his strong season start has bumped his Overall Rating to 70.
Alexander Albon – Williams Racing
This year, Albon makes his hugely anticipated return to the grid, and his two points-scoring performances in Australia and Miami show why Williams chose the Thai driver. His incredible overtakes and ability to finish higher than where he started have boosted Albon’s Racecraft to 90 and his Overall Rating to 82.
Charles Leclerc – Scuderia Ferrari
After a blistering start to the season, F1® 22’s cover star was second in the Championship after the Monaco Grand Prix. Five pole positions, five finishes ahead of his teammate, and wins in Bahrain and Australia mean that his Pace sits at 95, his highest rating, whilst his Racecraft is 94, Awareness 91, and Overall Rating is 92.
But what of last year’s Championship Rivals? Last year’s World Champion, Max Verstappen, took control of the Championship standings after the Spanish Grand Prix and continues his dominance at the top. Finishing four races in a better position than he started means his Racecraft sits at 98, his highest rating, whilst his Awareness is at 79, Pace is 97, and his Overall Rating rests at 94. Fighting through the field in Bahrain and Australia has meant Hamilton starts F1® 22 with his Racecraft at 96, his Awareness 92, and Pace is 93, equal to his teammate's, giving an Overall Rating of 94, tying with Verstappen.
