The Road to Fame is here!

Hi golfers,

We're very excited to bring you the 3.0 update. This update includes something that we've been working very hard on, the Road to Fame; we hope you enjoy it!

The Road to Fame is a brand-new rogue-lite single player game mode where you can build out your career as a professional golfer in Golf Clash. You’ll be able to play on some of the most iconic real-world courses, including Pebble Beach®, TPC Sawgrass, East Lake Golf Club & St Andrews Links, just like the real pros!

How does the Road to Fame work?

Golfers will be given a brand-new Series Club set for the Road to Fame and will play through three courses to complete a full run. All golfers will begin as a Rookie and climb through the divisions by completing runs and progressing down the Road to Fame.

When starting a new run, you'll have a selection of three courses which will determine where you'll be teeing off. Once a course has been completed, you'll be presented with another choice of three courses. After selecting a course, golfers will be on the Road to Fame! A track made up of various nodes that you must progress down in order to complete the course. If you fail a run, you'll have to start over.

What are nodes?

Courses are made up of nodes and completing these nodes is pivotal to your success on the Road to Fame. These nodes are split up into different types, Hole, Challenge and Reward.

Hole Nodes are where golfers can earn Club Credits and improve their score for that course. These nodes are similar to Tournament Play where you're trying to hole out in as few shots as possible. In Challenge Nodes, you can earn additional Club Credits by completing Hole-Out (similar to Golden Shot) or Putter Challenges, the amount you win is based on how well you do. Reward nodes are non-playable nodes and simply give a choice of rewards. Some of these rewards can be very powerful, offering boosts to clubs or a specific stat. Others give instant rewards, such as an amount of Club Credits or, if you're feeling confident and can go all the way, Club Credits per hole completed.

Some of these nodes can be quite tricky so if you fail a run, it’s over and you'll have to try again. However, you may have earnt some Fame to help you along the Fame Track.

What are these new currencies, Fame, Club Credits and Stamina?

Fame is a brand-new progression system that is unique to the Road to Fame. By completing courses and runs, golfers will be rewarded with Fame which will allow them to progress down the Fame Track. Along this track are various rewards that will help them in their runs. These rewards vary from Club Upgrades, meaning you could start a run with improved Clubs or even a Sponsor that will help you out. You can also earn rewards that help you out in the rest of the game, such as Gems, Coins, Chests and tokens for Practice or Checkpoint Challenge. Don't worry if you fail a run though as you'll still be able to earn Fame for how far you've progressed, but you will earn no Fame if a run is abandoned.

Club Credits are a new currency that allow you to upgrade your Series Club Set so they can become more powerful in the Road to Fame. You can accrue this currency by completing nodes and courses. This can then be spent on upgrading your Clubs, improving their stats and efficiency for that run. Any leftover Club Credits after completing a run will be automatically converted into Fame, so nothing goes to waste. You can also get permanent upgrades for your Clubs, these are earned via the Fame Track and will last for the entire Series.

Stamina is the currency that is required to play the Road to Fame. Golfers will start with an amount of Stamina to help them get started and each node requires it. Stamina can be acquired through regular intervals for free or available for purchase through specific bundles.

What are Sponsors?

A Sponsor is a single use item that can be equipped specifically for the Road to Fame. Golfers can have up to three at once and these can help boost you in various ways, by improving your clubs or increasing the Club Credits you receive. For example, you may get a Sponsor that gives you +1 Club Level for the course, giving you an edge while you progress. Take note because some of the more potent Sponsors offer powerful boosts so you may need to adjust your playstyle to better utilise these.

The Road to Fame debuts today, Thursday 22nd August, with the 'Warm Up Series'. These Series will span over multiple Golf Clash Seasons, the duration may be subject to change in the future, though you'll have plenty of time to reap all the rewards from the Fame Track.

We can't wait to see what you think of this brand-new game mode.

Best of luck out there and as always, happy swinging!
