Match Ups

Complexity Gaming vs. PSG Esports

Complexity Gaming started off the season in style, winning two out of their first four fixtures. Complexity Gaming remained consistent by securing two subsequent draws during its first split.   Being one of a few teams to go unbeaten in their first run, their return to the studio for the second split provided more pressure. Their second split opener against MGCF Esports ended in a  2-1 defeat, however, another two victories against EXCEL and SPQR Brasil Team returned Complexity to top form finishing atop Group A.

PSG Esports’ efforts didn’t go unnoticed in their debut at the EA SPORTS Cup after securing a win against Manchester City. PSG Esports then followed its first match with a difficult 4-1 defeat to FOKUS. In the second split of games, they needed a strong start, securing a follow-up win against FOKUS which put them in contention for qualification. Their final match was a must-win for PSG as they faced off against AFC Ajax which ended as a close contest, with the club winning 3-1, and denying AFC Ajax qualification into the knockout stage.

RBLZ Gaming vs. FNATIC

RBLZ Gaming came into the EA SPORTS Cup as favourites and they didn’t disappoint, winning 2-0 in both of their opening matches against Blue United eFC and MKERS. Their third game was against Team FUTWIZ which ended in a close 4-4 draw, RBLZ Gaming remained solid in its second split of competition winning all four of their second-round matches. RBLZ Gaming earned 20 points in the group stages, the most any club earned across the competition.

FNATIC had a slow start despite the team having high hopes coming into the season. With only one win in their first four fixtures, they ended the first split with one win, two draws and one loss. FNATIC bounced back in split two securing two important wins against Atlanta United FC and DUX Gaming helping the club advance to the Knockout Stage.

Atleti Riders vs. Team FUTWIZ

Atleti Riders had a strong run in their Group alongside Team Falcons, DUX Gaming, Atlanta United FC and FNATIC. They outperformed their counterparts by winning five out of eight fixtures and only losing once in their debut match against FNATIC. Atleti Riders continued their strong showing with three wins in the second half, with their final match against FNATIC being played for first place. They lead the group going into the knockout phase on 17 points.

Team FUTWIZ only managed one win in their opening four games. However, they remained undefeated securing draws against Guild Esports, RBLZ Gaming and MKERS. FUTWIZ started the second split strong with a 1-0 victory over Blue United eFC and another solid performance against MKERS in a 2-2 draw. Their third round against Guild Esports was a must-win for both teams and in FUTWIZ style, they closed out that game 3-1.

FOKUS vs. TG.NIP

FOKUS had one of the best starts across the tournament securing three wins against PSG Esports, AFC Ajax and Manchester City. They ended the first split with a draw against Team Heretics. After the break, FOKUS had difficulties securing qualification but earned just enough points in the second split to advance to the Knockout Stage.

TG.NIP showed up as strong contenders in Group A after beating SPQR Brasil Team in a commanding 3-0 victory. They followed this performance with draws in their three subsequent contests against  Complexity Gaming, MGCF and EXCEL. They returned to the second split by earning two important victories over EXCEL and SPQR to secure themselves second place with 14 points.
