Welcome to the 104th Update, ‘FreePlay 2000’!

It’s a big one! To celebrate The Sims™ 25th Birthday, we're taking you back to the year 2000! Back to a simpler time when phones had buttons, friends met in cafes, and reality TV shows were all the rage! But most of all, it was the first time a plumbob appeared over a Sim's head, and they exclaimed, "Sul Sul!"

With this update, your Sims can relive the Y2K cafe culture, serve hot cappuccinos, recreate their own 'spacious' studio apartment, and get their big break on the hottest reality show, ‘Reality Island’. We can feel the nostalgia for the 2000s already!

Oh, but we haven't even started celebrating yet! For real! We're going all out with 25 days of in-game gifts! You get gifts, and you get gifts; everybody gets gifts!  Make sure to check your inbox from the 4th of February because each item will be available to claim for only one day.  For long-time Sims fans, you might even see a few familiar items…

The Sims™ 25th Birthday

Of course, we had to celebrate The Sims™ 25th birthday with 25 days of daily gifts! Check your inbox each day to make sure you claim each reward because they will only be around for one day each. We also have something extra special from throughout The Sims FreePlay’s history.

‘The Sims FreePlay Museum’ will appear in ‘Another SimTown’! Visit there during the update via ‘The Party Boat’ in SimTown to check out several special, unique items from all the updates of FreePlay. Yay!!

SimChase Season 83 ‘The One with the Coffee Shop’

Traveling back to the year 2000 seems wicked until your Sim realizes they’ve got to be young all over again! They’ve picked up a job at the cafe, but Buffy Buffet seems to be taking all their customers.

Get your SimChase going for fresh cookies, vintage coffee machines, and a grilled cheese toastie action—basically, everything they need to run a cafe that’s the bomb dot com! 

Live Event ‘My First Apartment’

Nothing says it's my first apartment like dartboards, table tennis, and questionable art.

Build your perfect first apartment and get quirky roommates just like your favorite 2000s sitcom—all you’re missing now are the laugh tracks! Earn colorful wall interiors, Y2K TVs, and a whole Y2K apartment house lot to fill up.

Influence Island Season 60 ‘Reality Island’

It’s Y2K, and reality TV is really hot! Of course, your Sim has signed up, but can they win? Take a chill pill, get everyone on your side, and you’ll take home some of the most iconic items from the 2000s! Earn see-through phones, neon computers, tracksuits, and oversized glasses.

What else can you expect when jumping in:

• The new SimChase Season 84 ‘Family Funtime’ gives you the opportunity to earn outfits for your toddlers and adult Sims. Along with cozy nursing chairs, accompanying footrests, retro-futuristic cradles, toy chests, and more.
• To celebrate Black History Month, three hairstyles have been added for all players. Check them out!
