When will I be able to play the CONMEBOL competitions in FIFA 20? 

The CONMEBOL content update will be available on March 3, 2020 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Is the update free?

Yes, the CONMEBOL content update is free to download and available for all players who own FIFA 20 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

What size is the update?

The CONMEBOL update will be approximately 4.8 GB on PlayStation 4 and 5.5 GB on Xbox One.

What modes are included in the update?

You’ll be able to play CONMEBOL competitions - the CONMEBOL Libertadores, CONMEBOL Sudamericana, and CONMEBOL Recopa -  in FIFA 20 Kick Off and Career Mode, experience the ultimate connection to South America’s biggest club tournament with new content in FIFA 20 Ultimate Team, and play a brand new standalone CONMEBOL Libertadores Tournament Mode.

Are there new player head scans?

Yes, as part of the update you’ll see 76 new authentic player likenesses across various CONMEBOL clubs.

What is included in the standalone CONMEBOL Libertadores Tournament Mode?

The CONMEBOL Libertadores Tournament Mode lets you play through an authentic tournament structure, taking teams from the Group Stage of the competition all the way through to the Final. The experience includes a branded Tournament Hub complete with Dynamic News, as well as the latest tournament standings, fixtures, and results to keep you up to date with all the goings on throughout the competition.

At launch on March 3rd, the 28 teams that qualified directly for the group stages of the 2020 CONMEBOL Libertadores will be included within the Tournament Mode, with the four remaining clubs randomly drawn from the existing South American leagues in FIFA 20. The remaining four teams who reach the group stages via the qualifying round will be added to FIFA 20 in a later update, at which point the mode will be representative of the 32 teams participating in the 2020 CONMEBOL Libertadores group stages.

What about Brazilian teams and players?

After downloading the update you’ll be able to play with fully authentic Brazilian kits and crests within FIFA 20 Kick Off, Career Mode, and the CONMEBOL Libertadores Tournament Mode, however player names and likenesses will remain generic. Players from Brazilian clubs will continue not to be included within FIFA 20 Ultimate Team.

All teams from other CONMEBOL nations will have authentic team and player names within the FIFA 20 CONMEBOL Kick-Off and Tournament Modes.

Can I play as Boca Juniors and River Plate?

Boca Juniors and River Plate will be playable teams with authentic kits, crests, and player names within the CONMEBOL Libertadores Kick Off and standalone Tournament Modes. In Career Mode, regular Kick Off, and FUT, we will have authentic players from those teams but generic crests and team names.

Which CONMEBOL competitions will be integrated into Career Mode?

All three CONMEBOL club competitions (Libertadores, Sudamericana, and Recopa) will be integrated in FIFA 20 Career Mode, allowing you to play through each tournament and lift each trophy. From the second season, you’ll also be able to play through the CONMEBOL Libertadores qualifiers.

Will this impact existing Career Mode saves?

Any save game started after downloading the update will include the authentic format and presentation of the CONMEBOL club competitions. Existing save games will retain the previous generic Copa Latam competition structure.

How can I play the CONMEBOL Sudamericana in FIFA 20?

In addition to being able to play a CONMEBOL Sudamericana Final Match in Kick Off mode, the CONMEBOL Sudamericana will also be a playable competition in FIFA 20 Career Mode.

How will I be able to experience CONMEBOL competitions in FUT?

FIFA 20 Ultimate Team will have over 500 CONMEBOL players, with special items for select players taking part in the CONMEBOL Libertadores and CONMEBOL Sudamericana. Can I play a CONMEBOL Libertadores match between non-CONMEBOL teams?

Yes, you can play a match between a CONMEBOL and non-CONMEBOL team (for example Boca Juniors versus Real Madrid) via the CONMEBOL Libertadores Exhibition Match type in FIFA 20 Kick Off mode.

Are new stadiums included?

You’ll be able to play in two new stadiums: Estadio Presidente Juan Domingo Perón (Racing Club, Argentina) and Estadio Libertadores de América (Club Atlético Independiente, Argentina).

How will CONMEBOL items work in Squad Building Challenges in FUT?

All CONMEBOL Libertadores player items are Rare and will count as Rare whenever Rare players are asked for in a Squad Building Challenge. Even if a player's base item was Bronze, Silver or Gold Common, the corresponding CONMEBOL Libertadores item will be Rare. All CONMEBOL Sudamericana player items are Common.
