Player Ratings Update: Week 2
See how performances from superstars like Rob Gronkowski and Ezekiel Elliott have affected their Madden Ratings.
Madden NFL 22

Week 2 in the NFL did not disappoint. The Washington Football Team pulled off a last-second victory against the New York Giants, the Buffalo Bills shutout the Miami Dolphins, and the Baltimore Ravens showed up against the Kansas City Chiefs, escaping with a 36-35 win on Sunday night.
Epic runs, crazy catches, and incredible plays abounded all over the NFL during Week 2. And the Madden NFL 22 Ratings Performance Adjustor team is working hard to tweak, refine, and polish ratings across the league based on those IRL performances.
As always, you can access the full Madden NFL 22 Player Ratings Database HERE to see all of this week’s Ratings Updates and more.
Let’s take a closer look at some key Ratings Updates as we ready up for Week 3.
Week 2: Who’s Up
Rob Gronkowski | TE | Tampa Bay Buccaneers
In a 48-25 win against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, Rob Gronkowski scored two more touchdowns increasing his total for this young season to four. It took Gronk a few games to knock the rust off last year in his comeback from retirement, but he and Tom Brady have picked up where they left off, hooking up for scores early and often. Gronk’s getting an OVR boost as a result, and will be the No. 4 highest-rated TE in Madden NFL 22 following Week 2.
Derek Carr | QB | Las Vegas Raiders
The constantly underrated Raiders quarterback was hot again on Sunday in a victory against the Steelers. Derek Carr threw for 382 yards and two touchdowns against Pittsburgh, leading his team to a 2-0 record to start the 2021 season. Carr has racked up 817 pass yards, four touchdowns, and thrown just one pick through two games, and the Ratings Adjustor team has taken note, giving him an OVR boost ahead of Week 3.
Bobby Wagner | MLB | Seattle Seahawks
No stranger to the 99 Club in years’ past, Bobby Wagner was all over the field on Sunday in a loss against the Titans. The veteran linebacker piled up a franchise record 20 tackles in the game, which absolutely warrants an OVR ratings bump ahead of Week 3. The downside is that the Seattle defense gave up 532 yards to Tennessee in the game including 182 rush yards to Derrick Henry.
Week 2: Who’s Down
Kenny Golladay | WR | New York Giants
A massive offseason acquisition for the Giants, Kenny Golladay has statistically stumbled a bit out of the gate. The writing was on the wall when Golladay said during the preseason he thought the Giants offense would start slow. No lies detected, as through two games New York is 0-2 and Golladay has just seven grabs for 102 yards. His OVR is slipping a bit this week as a result.
Ezekiel Elliott | HB | Dallas Cowboys
It’s been a slow start for Ezekiel Elliot, though he has faced two tough defenses in the Buccaneers and Chargers. Still, he was out-played on Sunday by his teammate Tony Pollard who plays a change-of-pace role in the Dallas backfield. Zeke did find the end zone for the first time this year (fantasy football owners rejoice!) but his OVR is still getting knocked a bit ahead of Week 3.
Zach Wilson | QB | New York Jets
Following a four-interception game against the Patriots, Jets rookie quarterback Zach Wilson is due for a ratings decrease. His OVR is dropping a full two points ahead of a Week 3 matchup against Denver.
