Learn how to make the most of the XFAD-4 Draugr and DFR Strife with some insider advice from the *Battlefield* developers.

**New Vehicle: XFAD-4 Draugr**

A cutting-edge, remote-controlled aerial bomber, the Draugr has many aces up its metal sleeves, allowing for several different loadouts. For starters, you can choose between two types of 20mm Dual Cannons: one ideal for dealing with infantry, one effective against vehicles. 

Want to bring up the heat for enemy infantry? Use the Draugr’s MK77 Kerosene Bomb. You can also drop an NNEMP bomb to trigger a high-power electromagnetic wave. Use this to deal vehicle damage (with a precise enough hit), or drop the NNEMP in crowded enemy territory to knock out enemy defensive gadgets within a large radius. 

The Draugr’s MK84 JDAM Bomb can be used in several ways, too. Drop one from high above, and it will have time to arm and automatically lock on to land vehicles, bringing tons of damage if it survives enemy countermeasures. Alternatively, deliver a JDAM when going in low with your Draugr – you’ll lose precision guidance, but enemies won’t have time to react.

If you want to deal an insane amount of damage, learn to master the Air-to-Ground Missiles. Using these works best with a teammate on the ground who can designate a target for you using SOFLAM or Tracer Darts. When your buddy has painted a target for you, simply lock on to it and deliver the goods.

Arguably the coolest feature of them all, the Draugr’s cloaking capabilities are a thrill to master. The CIX Valravn as it’s called, is an advanced counter-illumination camouflage which can temporarily obscure the Draugr from visible detection. 

Whether you’re attacking or defending, cloaking will come in handy. Try activating it right before a bombing run to use the element of surprise. Got a pesky jet on your six? Getting locked on from the ground? Activate your cloaking, do some evasive maneuvers, and get out of danger.

**New LMG: DFR Strife**

Being versatile and adapting on the fly is essential on the battlefield. Therefore, deploying with a weapon with lots of versatility of its own is wise. The DFR Strife light machine gun can be used in many different situations depending on how you use it. 

For instance, it can be equipped with a belt-fed ammo box or a magazine, to take on the role either as a classic LMG, or more like an assault rifle. Uniquely, you can also use both heavy suppressors and subsonic ammo. In other words, this is a weapon for mid-range or close-quarters situations.

You can also unlock underbarrel grenade launchers for the DFR Strife. These come in four different variants: armor-piercing, smoke, incendiary, and HE grenades. Again, versatility is this weapon’s greatest strength.

Try experimenting with different builds of the DFR Strife to find something that fits your play style. A “crowd control” build could consist of a heavy suppressor, a grenade launcher, ammo box, and a big thermal scope. Use this to lay down suppressive fire and combine it with some efficient grenade spamming with the grenade launchers. 

Another possibility is to piece together a suppressed CQC Assault build with the DFR Strife. With the right grip, subsonic ammo, a small suppressor, and a short range sight, you can use the DFR as an assault rifle-style weapon.

**How to Unlock the New Gear**

Unlocking the Draugr and DFR Strife is a cinch. Simply play *Battlefield 2042* during the Death From Above event (between May 14-28) and earn 40 ribbons to unlock the Draugr and 80 ribbons to add the DFR Strife to your arsenal. If you miss the event, the Draugr and DFR Strife can be unlocked at a later stage by doing in-game quests.

So, gear up and get ready to give it your all in Season 7: Turning Point with these powerful tools.

When you jump into the lawless suburban combat of *Battlefield™ 2042* – Season 7: Turning Point, bringing the right tools for the job is crucial. The good news is that two versatile weapons are coming your way, along with a classic gadget making a comeback.

Let&#39;s learn how to harness the power of the AK 5C, the SCZ-3, and the Predator SRAW with some expert advice from the *Battlefield* developers.

**New Assault Rifle: AK 5C**

The AK 5C is a powerful, formidable addition to your arsenal for close and medium-range encounters. This is a versatile weapon that you can transform to fit many situations.

For instance, try equipping the AK 5C with a heavy barrel, high-power ammo, and a bipod. This will give the assault rifle DMR-like qualities which is a good choice if you want to fight from afar. Just prepare for an increase in vertical recoil when firing in full-auto!

You can also create a more stealthy, spec-ops build by adding thermals, a heavy suppressor, and subsonic ammo. This will make the AK 5C a reliable partner in the tight confines of Haven, the new map coming with Season 7. A heavy or light suppressor and underbarrel shotgun can also be combined for an Assault CQC stealth build – also a nice fit for the tighter sections of the battlefield.

**New SMG: SCZ-3**

Next up is the SCZ-3: a versatile, fast-firing submachine gun. This highly efficient SMG is ideal for close-quarters combat and if you equip it with a drum magazine, you’ll spend less time reloading and more time dominating the battlefield.

The SCZ-3 can be transformed into a pseudo-carbine role, by using high-power ammo and an extended barrel. You can see this weapon as a hybrid between the PBX-45 and the PP-29, providing more accuracy but less ammo than the latter, and being less deadly in close combat than the former.

The SCZ-3 requires pinpoint accuracy at close range to compete with other SMGs, but if you can consistently hit headshots, you&#39;ll find its time-to-kill highly competitive. Again, versatility is the key benefit of the SCZ-3; try building it as a mid-range pseudo-carbine or a close-quarters shredder, depending on your battle strategy.

**New Gadget: Predator SRAW**

Finally, we introduce the Predator SRAW, a returning staple that fans of *Battlefield 4* may have missed. We think you’ll have fun when harnessing the power of the SRAW, which can bring down land and air vehicles with its wire-guided missiles. This launcher is especially effective against helicopters and moving targets, delivering serious threat to Little Bird helicopters, tuk-tuks, and anything in between.

The Predator SRAW is a classic gadget loved by fans of the game and is back by popular demand. Whether you&#39;re going for crazy trick shots or focusing on anti-air warfare, it will be a valuable asset in your arsenal. It&#39;s not just about destruction; it&#39;s about strategic warfare.

Learn how to support your squad with ammo and health with the throwables coming with Battlefield 2042 – Season 6: Dark Creations

When the fear of defeat creeps in, you’re just a throwable away from survival. With Battlefield™ 2042 – Season 6: Dark Creations*, you’ll be able to support your squad mates by chucking them pouches that will let them replenish their ammo or health. Make good use of this lifeline in the close-quarters mayhem.

The Medical and Ammo Pouches are two new Gadgets available for [the Support class](/games/battlefield/battlefield-2042/classes-hub/support-class). With one of these added to your loadout, you’ll be able to throw them to teammates to replenish some of their health or ammo. You’ll see which teammate you’re targeting through outlines around their bodies. Injured or fresh out of bullets yourself? No worries, just self-apply.

The pouches are most useful in the middle of intense combat situations on tight, frantic battlefields like[ the new Redacted map](/games/battlefield/battlefield-2042/maps-hub/redacted). Lobbing ammo or health round the corners of this meatgrinder will result in happy teammates (and a good chunk of XP for yourself). If your allies are moving, simply chuck a pouch in front of them and they will be supported without even having to think about it.

The throwable pouches will give the Support class Specialists – Falck, Irish, and Angel – new versatility. Try equipping Falck with a Ammo Pouch and use it together with her S21 Syrette Pistol to be the ultimate team player, fulfilling several of your buddies’ needs. Or take Irish for a spin and give him a more active role as a hybrid defender thanks to the pouches, now that you don’t have to rely on the more stationary (albeit handy) Medical Crates.

In the tight, claustrophobic battles of Battlefield™ 2042 – Season 6: Dark Creations*, you’d better come prepared. Luckily, three brand new weapons suited for close quarters are getting added to your arsenal. Learn how to make the best of the VHX-D3, G428, and L9CZ with some insider tips straight from the developers.

**New Assault Rifle: VHX-D3**

First up: a unique, futuristic assault rifle featuring both optimized portability and great performance. Get to know this “bullpup” AR, and it will be a valuable asset for close and medium-range combat. 

With the VHX-D3, you can combine full stealth, thermal optics, high firepower, and rate of fire with underbarrel launchers – all of which will come in very handy in the tight hallways of [Redacted, the new map coming with Season 6.](/games/battlefield/battlefield-2042/maps-hub/redacted)

When you’re laying down fire at mid-range with this reliable weapon, try to shoot in bursts to maintain control. The VHX-D3 has a great stopping power with its high-power ammo, but on the flip side, its magazine is limited in capacity compared to other weapons of its kind. Focus on aiming well, have a buddy with a [throwable Ammo Pouch](/games/battlefield/battlefield-2042/tips-and-tricks-hub/season-6-ammo-medical-pouches) nearby, and you will be a serious threat to the opposing team.

The underbarrel grenade launcher is a great attachment for fights on Redacted and its many corners and tight hallways. In areas with several enemies grouped up, combine your regular fire with a well-placed grenade to rack up the kills. 

**New DMR: G428**

The hunt may be on, but your enemy will always be the prey when you’ve got a G428 in hand. This all-new DMR has exceptional accuracy and substantial penetration power.

The G428 is the second full-auto DMR in the game, joining the player-favorite BSV-M but with a different approach where precision matters most. The G428 is closer to the traditional marksman rifle, with higher stopping power at the exchange of lower rate of fire and more recoil kick.

On a close quarters map like Redacted, try using a suppressor with subsonic ammo, and one of the short scopes that make it easy to see on a dark map, along with a laser reticle underbarrel attachment to improve hip fire.
Want to fulfill that sniper fantasy instead? Add a longer-range barrel and high power bipod, and long-range thermals, and you’ll be able to support your team from longer distances.

**New Sidearm: L9CZ**
Over to the ideal partner for when you’re in a tight spot: the L9CZ. This semi-automatic, highly accurate sidearm will be a stylish life-saver when your primary weapon runs dry.

This is a very agile pistol with great balance and power that fans of the G57 will appreciate. Focused on close quarters fights, it fires quickly with pretty good control. The unique, sleek BOA 5 Holo Sight has a bigger, more visible red dot and the glass is a bit more tinted, making it easier to use in high contrast/bright environments.

Thinking and acting fast is crucial on high-octane maps like Redacted. Luckily, the L9CZ is great for hip fire. If you’re taking a more stealthy approach, equip the suppressor and laser sight to pick off enemies in a stylish way.
We believe you’ll enjoy the L9CZ and how it will make the enemy shake in their boots. (Oh, and the reload animation is pretty sweet.)

How to Master the Weapons of Season 6


Looking for a way to quickly get from A to B to steal a control point? Or flank an unsuspecting foe from the sky? Jump aboard the YUV-2 Pondhawk vehicle, coming with *Battlefield™ 2042* – Season 6: Dark Creations*.

Unlockable through the Season 6 free Battle Pass tiers**, the YUV-2 is a nifty transport allowing you to rush objectives, flank enemies, and get creative on the battlefield. This hover bike-like vehicle supports one driver and one passenger and since they’re part of the light transport category, there will be quite a lot of these available in the spawn menu. 

**Designed for Fast, Stealthy Transport**

Calling in and firing up the YUV-2, you’ll notice that the controls are somewhat similar to those of a drone – which means more stability compared to a helicopter. After your first test flight, you’ll probably realize its potential in modes like Conquest, where you need to reach another capture point quickly or simply sneak around.

The Pondhawk will be very useful for reconnaissance and is much less “in your face” than something like a Super Hind helicopter. Not armed with any weapons, it’s not designed for attacking, but your passenger can of course use their arsenal to cause some trouble as you zip through the map. 

**Use the Ping Gadget and Smoke**

The YUV-2 is equipped with a ping gadget which can make enemies appear on the minimap for you and your squad. Try to identify a position that you want to seize where enemy activity is low. Sneak around, use your ping to check enemy presence, capture the flag, and move on. If you bring a teammate, you can drop them off so they can hold the point. The Pondhawk also have thermal and regular smoke capabilities – use these to stay out of sight and to avoid homing missiles. 

**Experiments and Shenanigans**

Though the YUV-2 is mainly designed for fast transportation, you can achieve some glorious Battlefield moments if you think outside the box. Try sticking some C5 on it, steer it towards a group of enemies, and deliver an explosive surprise. Just don’t forget to jump off (why not with a Wingsuit?) before impact.

Since the vehicle is so stable – almost like a floating platform – it grants shenanigan opportunities like piling a few snipers onboard and finding a good spot to attack enemy infantry. Though you run the risk of being sniped yourself, this cheeky maneuver is sure to annoy your enemies.

We’ve got three incredible new weapons coming your way. Keep reading to find out which ones you’ll want to add to your arsenal in Season 5: New Dawn.

Sometimes size does matter. When it comes to dealing heavy damage at close range, you can’t ask for better than the BFP.50. This powerful semi-automatic pistol is downright massive, and requires a skilled hand to take on its weight and very large grip. It’s .50 AE rounds make it every bit as deadly as the M44 but with the advantage of much faster firing. This monster of a pistol is available to any Class in Battlefield™ 2042 as a sidearm/secondary weapon.

The GEW-46 standard assault rifle lets you experience high stability with short-burst fire in medium-range engagements. How to Master the New Season 5 Weapons


Want to get the most bang for your buck out of these little beauties? Keep reading. 

There’s nothing quite like the surprise factor (or the stopping power) of a well-timed grenade, and Battlefield™ 2042 - Season 5: New Dawn has not one, not two, but three new types for you to put to good use on the battlefield. Spring Grenades and Mini Grenades are available to every Class, while the Anti-Tank Grenades are solely available to Engineers. Let’s take a look at each one to help you decide when and where best to make use of them.

First up is the new Spring Grenade. Similar to the WWII German S-mine (or “Bouncing Betty”), the Spring Grenade doesn’t explode upon impact with an enemy, cover, or vehicle, rather once it lands there’s a second or two pause before it shoots up into the air with a spectacular trail of sparks and explodes – conveniently just about at your enemy’s head height. With proper timing, the Spring Grenade can act as a great method for panicking and flushing out combatants behind cover. However, it’s important to note that should your enemy go prone before the grenade goes off, they’ll take significantly less damage. 

Mini Grenades are similar to standard Frag Grenades, but much smaller and both easier and faster to throw. The smaller size does mean a smaller area of effect and less overall damage, however, the big benefit is quantity over explosive quality. Rather than being restricted to a single grenade, you can have up to three Minis at a time. This gives you a bit more flexibility in terms of their use. Rather than a single throw at a target, you can select several at a time. Or position multiple grenades in quick succession to impel an enemy out of cover or into your squad’s kill zone. Mini Grenades can also be thrown much farther, allowing for more overall versatility in combat.

Finally, there’s the Anti-Tank Grenade, a large explosive that really packs a wallop against enemy vehicles. If thrown directly at an enemy vehicle, it will explode upon impact, dealing significant damage (depending upon where it hits and what it hits, naturally). It may take several Anti-Tank Grenades to take out an EMKV90-TOR, but against something like an MD540 Nightbird, one well-timed explosive should bring it down. If you are attacking a tank, try to aim for the back of the vehicle to get the most damage. Note: Anti-Tank Grenades will only damage enemy vehicles unless “Friendly Fire” has been enabled.

How to Master the New Season 5 Grenades


Tips and tricks for a unique infantry fighting vehicle.

With *Battlefield 2042* – Season 4: Eleventh Hour comes many opportunities for close quarters combat. One of them is taking the new CAV-Brawler into battle. This vehicle excels in fighting infantry – and has a few more aces up its metal sleeve.

**A Feisty Five-Seater**

The CAV-Brawler specializes in close-quarters battles versus enemy infantry. This IFV has room for five soldiers and if you’re in the driver seat, you have many tactical opportunities. Not only is it up to you where to approach the enemy, you’re also equipped with several defense systems (more on those later.) Seat #2 and #3 are for the gunners. The former comes with a coaxial LMG and a choice between a case-firing cannon and a 25mm APDS for anti-armor purposes. The No-Pat in seat three can choose one of the following: a minigun, a flak gun, and an incendiary grenade launcher.

Finally, there are two open seats towards the rear of the CAV-Brawler. Soldiers seated here can use their personal weapons and Gadgets, most importantly the Repair Tool – vital when vehicle damage occurs. Naturally, these two seats are more exposed, but players can duck out of harm’s way when coming under fire.

**Using the CAV-Brawler as a Team Spawner**

There’s another major feature to this IFV: the CAV-Brawler acts as a team spawner. Friendly soldiers can spawn on the vehicle’s location, even when it’s fully occupied. When your team is pushing for an objective, this is a great way to return to battle quickly. Keep this in mind if you’re in the driver’s seat, as it’s always a good idea to have reinforcements deploying steadily towards key objectives.

**Powerful Defense Systems**

The enemy team may have opinions on you defeating dozens of its troops with the Brawler. If they push back, you’ll be pleased to know that the vehicle has strong defensive capabilities mechanisms. There’s a Threat Detection System like the one found on [the EMKV90-TOR](/games/battlefield/battlefield-2042/tips-and-tricks-hub/how-to-master-emkv90-tor-tank), which detects and highlights hostile soldiers and vehicles causing damage.

The CAV-Brawler is also extra resistant to damage from explosive devices like AT Mines and C5. It may also be equipped with a Detection Pulse, an Active Defense System, or the Close Defense System that launches grenades all around the vehicle to attack soft targets close-by.

How to Master the CAV-Brawler in Battlefield™ 2042


Make the most of the Assault Class’s “sticky” explosives.

Introduced with Battlefield 2042 – Season 4: Eleventh Hour, the SPH Explosive Launcher is a potent Gadget for the Assault Class – and a blast to use! Learn how this handy hardware can aid your anti-infantry ambitions.

The Gadget in question fires Smart Piercing Hook (SPH) explosives – “sticky” projectiles capable of latching on to objects, vehicles, and players. Once an explosive attaches to its target, it will detonate after roughly one second. The SPH has an ammo count of four projectiles – two per casing – and requires a reload after two projectiles have been fired.

The SPH has many uses, but as you may suspect, the most fun is to make a projectile stick to an enemy. Pull this off and the enemy will see a flashing red icon, indicating doom. At this point, your foe’s redeploy screen is as inevitable as the smirk on your face.

You don’t need to aim this accurately to be effective, though. A projectile will kill an enemy within 2,5 meters and has a blast radius of 5 meters. You can be up to 50 meters away from your target and still hit where you are aiming, but further away, projectiles will drop drastically. The trajectory is quite flat, which makes it hard to lob projectiles, but ideal for precision shots. Keep this in mind, look for the right openings, and you will master the SPH Explosive Launcher in no time.

The SPH is great for area control. Shoot one or two projectiles into a building, and you are likely to see enemies fleeing the scene. Having created this chaos, you and your squad can push on, pick up the scraps, and secure the area. The SPH is ineffective against tanks, but if you see an open-seat vehicle with multiple targets on board, there’s another type of opportunity: shoot projectiles at the vehicle for a chance to score a satisfying multikill.

The only real countermeasure to the SPH is the APS-36 Shootdown Sentinel. This is a Gadget wielded by the Specialist[ Irish](/games/battlefield/battlefield-2042/specialists-hub/kimble-irish-graves) that can take down explosive projectiles. Also, enemies playing as [Dozer](/games/battlefield/battlefield-2042/specialists-hub/santiago-espinoza) will not die from a stuck projectile if they’re at full health, thanks to the Blast Resistance Trait. In that scenario, try to get two shots in.

Tips on how to dominate with the new Specialist and her X6-Infiltration Device.

A highly decorated sailor, fighting to do what’s right. Meet Camila Blasco, the new [Specialist](/games/battlefield/battlefield-2042/specialists-hub) coming to *Battlefield 2042* with Season 4: Eleventh Hour.

This Recon Class No-Pat is a true ambush expert. If you master her skills and tactical gear, your chances of moving through the battlefield unseen and unharmed should increase. Jumping into battle as Blasco will create unique opportunities to win the day (and have a blast while doing it) using her Specialist Gadget and Trait.

**Stay undetected with the X6-Infiltration Device**

Blasco is equipped with a signal jammer preventing any lock-ons from hostile devices. Dubbed the X6-Infiltration Device, this Specialist Gadget also interferes with active spotting technology.

When you place this device on the battlefield, take a look at the minimap: you’ll see its area of effect. As long as you stay within this space, you cannot be spotted by enemies. On top of that, any foes entering the area will get a scrambled view on their own minimaps. The X6-Infiltration Device also prevents your foes from locking on to your vehicles with gear like rocket launchers.

So, when and where should you place this helpful piece of tech? If you’ve just captured an objective and your team is defending it, try to place the X6 near key areas and chokepoints, but hidden away (note: it works through walls) so it won’t be destroyed.

If you’re sniping from a hilltop and don’t want to get spotted, you could bring the Gadget to your vantage point and make good use of it there. Or why not give a friendly tank some extra protection by placing your Specialist Gadget close to it? Play around with the X6-Infiltration Device and you’ll likely find even more uses.

**Avoid traps thanks to the Ambush Expert Trait**

Playing as Blasco, your enemies’ motion-based Gadgets will not be an issue. The Ambush Expert Trait means you will never trigger equipment like Claymores, T-UGS, or Proximity Sensors. Coupled with the fact that you cannot be targeted by Boris’ SG-36 Sentry Gun, the Traits grants many interesting opportunities.

For instance, you can ambush areas where the enemy thinks they are safe. Having placed a motion-sensing Gadget to guard one doorway, your opponent is likely to cover another one. Sneak in undetected and give your foe a nasty surprise.

You can make good use of the intel the Ambush Expert trait gives you. Clear the way for your team mates by warning them about (or simply destroying) the enemies’ motion-sensing hardware.

Blasco is a great choice if you want No-Pat with some sneaky skills. Be a class above with this unique Specialist coming with *Battlefield 2042* – Season 4: Eleventh Hour.

Tips and tricks for the new hi-tech weapon coming with Season 3

Crafted with cutting-edge technology, the Rorsch Mk-4 railgun will prove powerful – at least to the No-Pats who can master it! Read on for some pointers for this unique weapon, coming with *Battlefield 2042* – Season 3: Escalation.

Unlocked through the Season 3 Battle Pass, the Mk-4 uses electromagnetic forces to launch projectiles at preposterous speeds. And with a battery pack “underbarrel” system capable of multiple firing modes, this is a versatile weapon indeed.

First off: the Single Shot mode. Using this in your hunt for headshots is the best way to achieve long-range effectiveness. A headshot with the Mk-4 will defeat an enemy at any distance, so keep away from your foe and maintain a steady aim. The Burst Mode on the other hand is best used in close-quarter battles. Use this against attackers within a range of 20 meters for best results.

Changing the railgun’s battery capacitors will alter the bullet damage curves, without requiring a magazine swap. So, using the Burst Mode in tight spaces, and quickly swapping to Single Shot for a long-distance snipe will be a pro move.

The Rorsch Mk-4 will automatically recharge when you’re not using it, so try to use it in a preemptive way. Find the enemy, start charging from cover, then peek out to unleash the powerful shots.

How to Master the New Rorsch Mk-4 Railgun


Make the most of the versatile vehicle’s fighting modes

With *Battlefield 2042* – Season 3: Escalation, you get to call the shots with powerful, hi-tech hardware – including the EMKV90-TOR tank, a vehicle granting you immense destructive power. But watch your six – you’re far from invulnerable. 

Armed with a Hyper Velocity Electromagnetic Gun, the EMKV90-TOR has the range and firepower to defeat any enemy vehicle it may encounter. However, the firing sequence is slow and turret traverse speed is reduced during firing. Try to keep your distance to the enemy, as your close-range fighting capability is limited.

The EMKV90-TOR has two fighting modes: Siege Mode and Mobility Mode. Switch between these by pressing Z or Down on the D-pad.

Siege Mode will maximize the main gun’s destructive power and lower suspension of the vehicle, creating a great opportunity to attack enemy armor. On the flip side, the tank’s movement will slow down to a crawl and the rate of fire will be slower in Siege Mode.

Mobility Mode is designed for traversing the battlefield and quickly getting in and out of combat. Use the Mobility Mode to get into a good position, switch to Siege Mode and start taking out enemy vehicles. Go back to Mobility Mode to get out of trouble as fast as you got into it.

The TOR also comes equipped with an advanced threat detection system. This can be a life-saver as it detects and highlights hostile soldiers and vehicles causing damage. Got a second seat gunner with you? Let that player look out for nearby threats highlighted on the battlefield and minimap by the threat detection system. Then, your squad mate can respond to the attackers with the second seat’s machine gun and EMP field grenade launcher.

Utilize the new Specialist’s XM370A Airburst Launcher and Perseverance Trait

Stoic, kind-hearted, and an invaluable asset to your squad. Meet Rasheed Zain, the new [Specialist](/games/battlefield/battlefield-2042/specialists-hub/rasheed-zain) coming to Battlefield 2042 with Season 3: Escalation. If you’re a fan of the Assault Class and intense close-quarter combat, this could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

Deploying on the battlefield as Zain gives you unique ways to dominate the opposition with a new Specialty gadget and a new Trait. Let’s kick off with the former: the XM370A.

**Flush out Enemies with the XM370A**

A semi-automatic Airburst Launcher, the XM370A is a close-quarter weapon designed to take out – or flush out – enemy infantry behind cover.

The Airburst projectile detonates mid-air and is a great tool against foes burrowed down and out of reach. You can’t just go in guns blazing, though. Aim down the sights at a point at the distance of your choice and set this Airburst distance by pressing V (PC) or Down Arrow (console). Then, when aiming down the sights again, you’ll know when you’re aiming at that distance when the weapon’s scope interface turns blue.

Should you fire from the hip or aim at a target below the set Airburst distance, the projectile will behave differently. The trajectory will be flatter, it will detonate immediately at collision, and it will deal less damage. In other words, take the time to set that distance correctly!

The XM370A will not only help you rack up kills, it will also aid your squad in playing the objective. Use it efficiently and you can help break the enemy’s entire frontline, which will get your team one step closer to victory in modes like Conquest, Breakthrough, and Rush.

**Get in Close Thanks to the Perseverance Trait**

Zain’s perseverance under pressure is remarkable. Following an accident caused by a collapsing building in which he rescued a trapped civilian, Zain had to adapt to life with prosthetic legs. He joined the No-Pats and received intensive combat training to help him master his augmented physique.

On the battlefield, Zain’s Perseverance Trait allows him to recover health faster than other Specialists after taking out an enemy. This gives you an opportunity to play more aggressively in close-quarters combat, since taking cover and recovering is less urgent.

The Trait won’t make you immortal, and the faster recovery will be interrupted if you get hurt, but you can definitely take more risks and keep pushing – just as any good Assault player should.

There are several new ways to get the upper hand in CQC (close-quarters combat) during Season 2: Master of Arms – including the all-new Concussion Grenade.

The key to this handy little gadget is knowing exactly where to land it to get the most bang for your buck, and that’s in front of your enemies. Throw it too far and it’ll still work, but for maximum effectiveness, you want to ensure your enemies are facing it when it detonates.

Note: the concussion grenade won’t directly harm your enemies but it will disable their use of ADS making it harder for them to respond to fire and give you and your squad the upper hand.

How to make the most of concussion grenades


The charismatic ex-arms dealer, Charlie Crawford, brings a lot to the table in Season 2 – including a keen mind, ambition, and the right connections. His years of experience with the Dark Market make him a major asset to the No-Pats. And his new Gadget and Trait will make him just as valuable to your squad.

Crawford’s Mounted Vulcan is a tripod-mounted minigun that can be used by anyone after it’s been placed. It lays down immense firepower – particularly effective against infantry and light vehicles. Choose your placement wisely and lay down a brutal barrage to pin down your enemies right where you want them or keep enemies at bay and hold a hard-won territory. Of course, the minigun won’t make you and your squad untouchable, it has a limited turn radius and is prone to overheating so keep those factors in mind before you deploy it.

His “Cache Point” Trait is based on his [arms dealer background](https://www.ea.com/games/battlefield/battlefield-2042/the-world-of-battlefield-2042/the-dark-market) and allows him to add extra ammo to a gadget when he revives a teammate so they can pick up right where they left off.
