Football Ultimate Team™ 25 - Road to the Knockouts (RTTK)

Kick off the Football Ultimate Team™ season with the biggest UEFA Road to the Knockouts (RTTK) ever—more match days to follow along with, and therefore more opportunities to earn upgrades as clubs play and progress.

From 2024/25, a new era will be introduced in the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, and UEFA Conference League, making European club football more exciting.

The previous 32-team group stage in each competition will be replaced with a league phase featuring 36 teams.

Road to the Knockouts returns with a new range of upgrade opportunities based on the all new League Stage of UEFA’s elite club competitions.

With more games over a more extended period of time, we’ll deliver more opportunities for items to upgrade. In addition, we’ll leverage the new FC IQ roles to the Live Upgrade Mechanic.

The start of FC 25 will introduce significant changes to the core modes within Football Ultimate Team, guided by four key themes:

• establishing unique mode identities to differentiate how you play and are rewarded;
• ensuring players consistently find matches at the right level of competition,
• enhancing rewards for elite play, particularly improving from FC 24 to FC 25
• ensuring that rewards remain connected and relevant to what's happening in Ultimate Team through frequent updates.

On top of their initial boosts, Road to the Knockout items can get to up to 3 additional upgrades based on their clubs performance:

UEFA Champions League & UEFA Europa League RTTK items can earn up to three upgrades:

+1 OVR Upgrade if their club gets three victories from their League Phase matches . 

+1 OVR & Role ++ upgrade if their club scores at least 1 goal in 4 different matches.

PlayStyle+ & Role ++ upgrade if their club finishes in the Top 2 of their respective competition’s league table.

UEFA Conference League items can earn up to three upgrades:

+1 OVR Upgrade if their club gets two victories from their League Phase matches . 

+1 OVR & Role ++ upgrade if their club scores at least 1 goal in 4 different matches.

PS+ & Role ++ upgrade if their club finishes Top 2 in the league table.

UEFA Women’s Champions League items can earn up to three upgrades:

+1 OVR Upgrade if their club gets two victories from their Group Stage matches. 

+1 OVR & Role ++ upgrade if their club scores at least 1 goal in 4 different matches.

PS+ & Role ++ upgrade if their club wins their Group Stage.

You’ll also find a range of UEFA themed content arriving throughout the 2 week campaign including; the RTTK Squad available in the Football Ultimate Team pool of items, Player SBCs, Player Objectives, a new Rush Event, Upgrade SBCs & Evolutions.

FAQ

When will players be upgraded in-game?

Upgrades will go live in-game starting on the Friday after each match week. This means RTTK players will be upgraded at the end of a week following a club earning one of the upgrade requirements.

Does the player have to play in order to receive upgrades?

Road to the Knockouts upgrades are only based on team performance, so a player doesn’t have to feature in the game (or any matches) to be eligible.

Which matches count towards the “Wins” upgrade?

Each UCL League Phase will count towards the “Win” upgrade, including matches prior to UEFA Road to the Knockout kicking off in-game. This also applies to UEFA Europa League items and UEFA Conference League items, with the competition starting on October 3. The “Win” upgrade for UWCL will be counted starting on October 8, when the Group Stages begin.

Does scoring 1+ goals mean the team should score more than 1 goal to count toward the upgrade?

For the items to receive the "Score" upgrade, clubs should score at least 1 goal in 4 different matches.

Will these players continue to be upgraded after the league phase/group stage?

RTTK items are only eligible for upgrades during the League phase/Group stages.
