WELCOME TO THE $2M ALGS YEAR 2 CHAMPIONSHIP - JULY 7-10, 2022!

Here's everything you need to know about the ALGS Year 2 Championship at PNC Arena in Raleigh, NC this weekend!

A few weeks ago we announced that the Apex Legends™ Global Series Year 2 Championship will take place at PNC Arena in Raleigh, North Carolina, on July 7-10, 2022 and now we’re only two days away from kicking things off!

You already know that we’re bringing together the top teams from each of the ALGS’ five regions to determine the best team in the world and crown the ALGS Year 2 Champion, Below you’ll find information about team-branded in-game items, ticket sales, Twitch Drops, broadcast schedule, and more!

APEX LEGENDS GLOBAL SERIES TEAM SHOP

As we gear up for the Championship, be sure to check out the Apex Legends Global Series Team Shop in Apex Legends now through July 19, 2022. This two-week ALGS in-game offer is the first of its kind for the ALGS, and we want to make sure you have all the details:

The items in the ALGS Team Shop will include team-branded Epic Banner Frames, plus bundles featuring Epic or Legendary Weapon and Legend Skins.

LIMITED CHAMPIONSHIP SPECTATOR TICKETS REMAIN

If you haven’t secured your seat at PNC Arena yet, don’t worry! There are still a very limited number of spectator tickets available for the Championship this weekend!

Don’t miss your chance to join the ALGS community in person as they come together to cheer on their favorite teams live in Raleigh, NC for the largest ALGS competition to date.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT & BROADCAST SCHEDULE

For those who can’t make it to Raleigh, we’ve got all the information you need right here, so you don’t have to miss a minute of the most important ALGS competition to date.

You are going to want to clear your calendar, as the Championship begins at 1:00 PM ET / 10:00 AM PT on Thursday, July 7th, with a Group Stage spread over the first two days of competition. Teams will be split into four groups of ten teams, and each group will play a single six-match series against every other group.

On Friday, July 8th, after the Group Stage concludes, every team will be assigned a starting position in the Bracket Stage’s double-elimination bracket based on their Group Stage performance. 

After playing through the double-elimination bracket on Friday and Saturday, the top 20 teams will advance to the Finals.

The Finals will take place at 5:00 PM ET / 2:00 PM PT on Sunday, July 10th, and consist of a single Match Point series to determine the ALGS Year 2 Champion! Viewers tuning in during the Finals will also get an exclusive first look at the new season of Apex Legends Mobile.

As always, ALGS fans can watch their favorite teams compete all weekend long on our official Twitch and YouTube channels. 

As with the Split 2 Playoffs in Stockholm, the fan-favorite Lenovo Legion Stream Room returns for the Championship! NiceWiggand Greek will be joining us on-site in Raleigh, providing B-stream coverage on NiceWigg’s Twitch Channel during the Group Stage and a Watch Party for the Bracket Stage and Finals matches.

MULTIVIEW RETURNS FOR THE CHAMPIONSHIP

Multiview will again be available at the Championship, giving viewers on twitch.tv/playapex exponentially greater control over how they consume this weekend’s matches. Viewers can watch the Playoffs on up to four split-screen windows using the Command Center functionality on Twitch. 

Multiview puts you in the director's chair and allows ALGS fans to catch the action from multiple viewpoints, where you'll be able to choose which teams and players to watch with the option to listen in to their in-game communications as well. 

If you haven’t already, give Multiview a try during the Championship and experience the ALGS as you've never seen it before.

TWITCH DROPS FOR VIEWERS

ALGS fans that tune in to the Championship via Twitch can also claim rewards just for watching, as Twitch Drops return to twitch.tv/playapex for the Finals on Sunday, July 10th

The Championship will award in-game cosmetic items that viewers can earn simply by watching all the action unfold on Twitch.

You’re already set to earn Championship Twitch Drops if your account was linked for a previous ALGS broadcast. If not, follow the steps below to connect your Twitch and EA accounts for the first time.

  1. Make sure your platform account is linked to your EA Account.
  2. Create or sign in to your Twitch account and connect it to your EA Account.
  3. Watch the Apex Legends stream on Twitch to earn your Drops.
  4. Claim your Twitch Drops from your inventory when they’re available.

Twitch Drop Earning Thresholds 

  • 15 cumulative minutes watched on Day #4 of the Championship: The Rare ‘ALGS-Glitched’ Holospray
  • 1 cumulative hour watched on Day #4 of the Championship: The Rare ‘Digital Jammer’ Devotion skin
  • 2 cumulative hours watched on Day #4 of the Championship: The Rare ‘Amethyst Assassin’ Revenant skin
  • 3 cumulative hours watched on Day #4 of the Championship: The Epic ‘Lowkey Flex’ Gun Charm
