Competitors are responsible for their own travel, lodging, and any related expenses to attend the Event. EA may provide travel accommodations for some invited Competitors to the Live Event at EA's expense.
For those Competitors with travel expenses paid by EA, the selection of any flights, hotels, and/or related transfers will be in EA's sole discretion. Competitors must sign a Declaration of Eligibility to Travel prior to accepting travel accommodations to the Live Event. The Declaration of Eligibility to Travel will be provided to Competitor at the email address associated with Competitor's ESL PLAY account. If a Competitor does not complete the Declaration of Eligibility to Travel by the earlier of (1) the deadline noted in the invite email (2) 7 calendar days after attempted notification, fails to sign and/or return the Declaration of Eligibility to Travel within the required time period, refuses travel, is ineligible to accept travel, or is unavailable to travel on dates appropriate to the Live Events, the Competitor forfeits travel accommodations as well as their place in the Tournament.
If a Competitor is a minor in his or her territory of residence, the Competitor's parent or legal guardian will be required to sign all necessary documents to accept travel, and must accompany the Competitor to the Live Event. Hotel and airfare cannot be used separately. Travel and accommodations are subject to availability and certain restrictions. Any extra nights' stay and any additional costs associated with an extended stay are the sole responsibility of the Competitor and his or her companion. Valid passport and/or other travel documentation may be required, which is the responsibility of each Competitor. Additional restrictions may apply.
4.6 SEEDING & GROUPING
4.6.1 Seeding & Ranked Points
Teams will be seeded according to the Team total (cumulative across all Competitors on the Team) Ranked Points from PC. Ranked Points are from the Apex Legends Ranked Leagues mode associated with the EA account used to register for the Tournament as of 5:00pm PM Pacific Time on Tuesday, September 3, 2019. Competitors may find their individual total Ranked Points by selecting the "Ranked Leagues" Game Mode in the Apex Legends in-Game lobby.
When Teams' total Ranked Points are equal, the following will be used as the tie-breaker for seeding in the tournament:
- Random
Teams with Sponsor-approved roster changes after the Roster Lock (discussed in Section 3.3), including New Teams, will be seeded below Teams that maintain their roster from the Roster Lock. New Teams will be seeded randomly against all other New Teams.
4.6.2 Groups
- Teams will be initially distributed into groups using a snake draft method from the highest seeded team to the lowest. An example of this method can be found in Appendix C.
- Teams will be placed into 1 of 4 initial Tournament Groups: Groups A, B, C &D.
- In the event that one Group is not full (has less than 20 Teams,) any New Teams will be added to this Group without additional Seeding.
- In the event that more than one Group is not full (have less than 20 teams), any new Teams will fill each Group beginning with Group A, followed by Groups B, C, and D in that order, by Teams needed in each Group.
- Need is defined by number of teams that must be added to the Group in order for the Group to contain 20 teams. Example: If Groups A, B, & D have 19 Teams and Group C has 17 Teams, the 2 highest randomly seeded New Teams would be placed into Group C. The third highest randomly seeded new Team would be placed into Group A, the next Team placed into Group B, etc.
- Each round in the Tournament will use the same Group A, B, C, etc. naming convention.
4.7. BRACKETS
This Tournament uses a double-elimination format with a Winners Bracket and a Losers Bracket.
Teams from each Group that advance to the next stage of the Tournament will advance together, Teams will not be re-seeded from one round to the next. Example: The top 10 teams from both Winners Round 1 Groups A & B advance to Winners Round 2 and are grouped together into Group A for the new round.
In Rounds that feature more than 2 Groups, Teams from Groups A & B and Groups C & D will advance together.

- After a Team has been declared the winners of the Tournament, the remaining Teams in the Finals will be ranked based on total Series Score earned for all Matches played in the Finals.
- These Teams will be ranked 2nd - 20th, with all Teams receiving a rank.

- 3rd: 7
- 4th: 5
- 5th: 4
- 6th – 10th: 2
- 11th – 15th: 1

- Kills
- 1 for each kill
At the end of each Round, a Team's total points will include the Team's Match Scores for all Matches in that Round ("Series Score").
See Section 4.7.3. for details on the final placement of Teams in the Tournament Finals.
4.8.2. Tiebreakers
In the event of a tie in Series Score between 2 or more Teams, the following tiebreaker methods, in order, will be used. All items below are for Team total (cumulative across all Competitors on the Team) and only apply to Matches played in the Round in which the Teams are tied:
- Single Match Scores
- Each tied Team's single highest Match Score is compared against all tied Teams' single highest Match Score. These may have been in the same or different Matches in the Round for each tied Team. The Team that earned the highest single Match Score will win the tiebreaker. Example: Team 1 and Team 2 have tied Series Scores of 67. Team 1's highest single Match Score is 20 Points in the first Match of the Round and Team 2's highest single Match Score is 22 Points in the second Match of the Round. Team 2 would win the Single Match Score Tiebreaker.
- This is repeated for all Matches played in the Round until all ties are broken or no additional individual Match Scores are available. Example: Team 1's and Team 2's single highest Match Score is 20 points in Matches 1 & 3 respectively. Team 1's next highest single Match Score is 18 Points from Match 3, while Team 2's next highest single Match Score is 15 in Match 2. Team 1 would win the Single Match Score Tiebreaker.
- Single Match Best Placement
- Each tied Team's best placement in a single Match is compared against the best placement in a single match of all tied Teams. These best placements may have been in the same or different Matches for each tied Team. The Team with the best placement (lowest number) will win the tiebreaker. A 1st place finish in a single match is the best possible placement.
- This is repeated for all Matches played in the Round until all ties are broken or no additional individual Matches are available.
- Single Match Total Kills
- Each tied Team's single highest total Kills in a single Match is compared against all tied Teams' highest total Kills in a single Match. The Team with the most Kills in a single Match will win the tiebreaker.
- This is repeated for all Matches played in the Round until all ties are broken or no additional Matches are available.
- Total Damage Dealt in Round
- Each tied Team's total damage dealt, as indicated by the Damage Done or Damage Dealt stats on the in-Game end-of-Match summary screen ("Damage Dealt") as is compared against all tied Teams' total Damage Dealt in the Round. The Team with the most total Damage Dealt will win the tiebreaker.
4.9. ENFORCEMENT

Any Competitor may be disqualified immediately from the Tournament and further competitions, at the discretion of EA or its agents, for any reason, including for any failure to comply with the User Agreement, Privacy & Cookie Policy, Code of Conduct (in Appendix A), which may include but is not limited to:

No EA trademarks or affiliation: You may not use EA artwork, logos or trademarks (including game logo treatments, or the name Electronic Arts, EA or Respawn Entertainment) to promote your tournament or tournament website, and you may not otherwise suggest that your tournament or tournament website is endorsed or approved by or affiliated with EA in any way. However, you may state that your tournament is run using a specific EA game title. In addition, you must include the following notice in a clear and conspicuous manner on your tournament website and any tournament materials: “This tournament is not affiliated with or sponsored by Electronic Arts Inc..”

The total cash (or cash value) for your prize pool for all events in a calendar year may not exceed $10,000 USD (or its equivalent in local currency).
g. Tournament fees: You may charge a small entry fee of no more than $20 USD (or its equivalent in local currency) for each participant. In any case, the entry fee must be solely to help offset the cost of organising your tournament.
