Apex Legends Global Series $100K Online Tournaments Announced - Stay Home, Play Together

As part of EA’s “Stay & Play” initiative, the ALGS is going online in the coming months with several $100K Online Tournaments.

Hi ALGS fans and competitors,

As the global coronavirus situation evolves, we want to help the world find more ways to connect in play during a time where we need to be physically apart. As hard as this situation has been, we continue to be inspired by the camaraderie and support we see every day in Apex Legends. And EA is committed to creating the best platform possible for our fans to stay home, stay safe, and still find connection and joy together. As part of a broader “Stay & Play” initiative, the ALGS team is continuing to shift our events away from physical tournaments to Online Tournaments where players will compete for USD $100K in cash per tournament in addition to ALGS points. We’re also adding more broadcast coverage of our upcoming Online Tournaments so you can watch with friends online, from the comfort of your home. We’re so proud of how this community has rallied together and we hope everyone continues to enjoy the ALGS as we adapt our format to meet these difficult times.

Squad up in-game with your favorite Legends, and we’ll see you in the Arena!

Premier Event #2

The safety of our players and community is our top priority, which means the ALGS is shifting to Online Tournaments for the time being. We recently announced the suspension of all Apex Legends Global Series Live Events until the global Coronavirus situation improves. As such, the PGL Bucharest Premier Event #2, scheduled for May 30-31, has also been postponed. But we’ve made some exciting changes and additions to our upcoming online tournaments.

Online Tournament #3

In Online Tournament #3 (OT3) players will be competing for $100K, and while OT3 players can no longer win Live Event Travel or Qualification for the PGL Bucharest Premier Event #2 due to the postponement, ALGS Points will be on the line. Check out the full prize money breakdown below. Registration is open now and will close at 12 PM PDT on April 2.

ALGS Points Leaderboards

Fresh off of their second ALGS Online Tournament win, TSM tops the Global ALGS Points Leaderboard. In Europe, Alliance walked away with a commanding victory in Online Tournament #2, but everyone on the European Leaderboard is still chasing Kebabrulla, the Online Tournament #1 winners. Check out the full Global and Regional Leaderboards here.

This is an unprecedented time, but we truly believe in the power of games to help carry us through. It’s more important than ever to stay connected when we’re physically isolated. We hope this shift to online ALGS tournaments in the upcoming months will allow our community to continue supporting one another while we weather the storm. Stay tuned for additional ALGS announcements in the near future and stay safe.
