Playing Battlefield™ 1 Turning Tides, you’ll see a new face on the battlefield – but chances are he’ll see you first.
The clandestine Infiltrator is a new Elite Class introduced with the expansion, now available for owners of Battlefield 1 Premium Pass or Battlefield 1 Revolution.
We’ve created this Elite Class to provide you and your team a distinct tactical advantage when playing. You’ll find that strategy, as opposed to skill and reflexes, will matter more when playing as the Infiltrator.
When you grab this Elite Class pickup, you’ll be wielding some truly covert and mobile powers. You’ll hide in plain sight thanks to a contextual camouflage, making you hard to spot when crouched or prone in certain areas.
The Infiltrator also moves faster across the battlefield compared with other soldiers, thanks to a permanent sprint boost. Use this to outwit the opposition and find the optimal spots on the map.
Two powerful gadgets are part of the Infiltrator’s arsenal: the Flare Gun and the Heliograph. Fire a flare with the former to call in devastating artillery strikes against the enemy. Activating the artillery strike is done in two steps: one press to send out the flare (which is visible for you on the minimap), and a second press to detonate the flare and trigger the arrival of the 18 artillery shells.
The Heliograph is another way to assist your team; deploy it to give friendly troops a new spawn point. This is placed on the ground and will be active for a limited time before disappearing. Enemies will, however, be notified when a Heliograph is placed and can find it via audiovisual cues. On the other hand, the Infiltrator can place another one after a cooldown time.
It’s not all about the gadgets, though. You’re armed with a Grenade Launcher and a Sawed-Off Shotgun along with Smoke Grenades and a Survival Knife. Use these at a pinch, though – the Infiltrator is designed for mobility, not active combat.
Let us know what you think of the Infiltrator and have fun with the new Elite Class. Unless you’ll be hiding in plain sight, we’ll see you on the battlefield.
