• Monte Grappa Map: All You Need to Know

    What is Monte Grappa?

In the furious struggle of this map, you’ll fight with either the Austro-Hungarian Empire, who hold the upper hand in the battle, or the Italian Army, who won't stop until they've taken back what's theirs. Monte Grappa is one of the original maps that launched with Battlefield™ 1, and is a true classic.

Where and when is the map set?

The year is 1918, and you’ll fight in the Venetian Alps. Monte Grappa is based on the final Italian offensive of the war, Vittorio Veneto.

What game modes can I play on Monte Grappa?

There are lots of modes to choose from. Jump into matches of Conquest, Domination, Rush, Team Deathmatch, War Pigeons, and Frontlines on Monte Grappa. If you’re playing the Operation Iron Walls, you’ll also fight on this map. Curious about War Pigeons? Forgot the rules of Rush? Visit the Game Mode page and refresh your memory.

What makes Monte Grappa an entertaining map to play?

The dramatic landscape of the Alps equals dramatic battles. You’re up for a real challenge if you’re trudging uphill, but those with the high ground are also far from safe. Due to the vertical layout, aircraft will do close fly-bys and if a team is reinforced with an Airship, you might get a scarily-good demonstration of how huge these behemoths were.

Even though Monte Grappa is a vast, open map, there’s also a lot going on in close quarters, courtesy of the underground trenches and the large tunnel, bored into the mountainside. Watch your back.

I want some gameplay tips for Monte Grappa!

You got it. First off, if you’re playing as the Scout class, try to perch along the rock face above the hill on the map. It’s a great place; you’ll be hard to spot if you play your cards right.

When you’re inside the tunnel of Seren Gallery/Mountain Pass, you have a great chance to attack vehicles passing through – if you have the necessary anti-vehicle gear, that is. Watch your back though, since enemy infantry can sneak up on you from the other, smaller entrances to the tunnel.

Take control of the AA guns if you can, as they are a great help at holding down positions and for taking out infantry, planes, and even the airship. Oh, and remember that the might of the fortress guns is not to be taken lightly.
