What is Verdun Heights?
Verdun Heights is one of the maps from the Battlefield™ 1 They Shall Not Pass, the game’s first expansion pack, which brought the French Army into the conflict. This is an infantry-only map, where you’ll fight for domination as you make your way up through a massive forest fire to reach the fortresses of Verdun.
Where and when is the map set?
The year is 1916, and Verdun Heights takes place on a heavily fortified French hillside during the Battle of Verdun. You’ll face the heat of battle – and of a burning forest fire inferno created by artillery barrages.
What armies are available?
You’ll get to fight on either the German Empire’s side or with the French Army.
What game modes can I play on Verdun Heights?
Conquest, Domination, Rush, Team Deathmatch, War Pigeons, and Frontlines are all available to play in Verdun Heights. It is also available in the Operation called Devil’s Anvil as the first map.

What makes Verdun Heights a challenging map to play?
Verdun Heights is designed for infantry combat, and both the narrow trenches and the sloping map layout create unique challenges. Instead of a Behemoth reinforcing losing teams in Conquest mode, four Elite Kits will appear on the battlefield to even out the odds. Make good use of the Trench Raider, the Flame Trooper, and the two Sentry Kits and turn the match around.
How can I take advantage of the Siege Guns on the map?
Available in the Conquest, Operations, and Rush game modes, the BL 9.2 Siege Gun is a great asset. The shells reach across a sizable portion of the map and though reloading takes its time, the effect can be massive. Learn the locations of the Siege Guns, experiment with the ammunition types (high explosive, gas, and smoke), and have your squad mates spot enemies to maximize the damage.
