Heavy Hitters Event

The more you read about the history of hockey, the more you realize that hockey players aren’t just some of the most talented athletes on the planet, they’re also some of the toughest. Through taking big hits to make plays, pulling their own teeth out, or blocking shots – hockey players prove this point almost every day.

For the Heavy Hitters event we wanted to celebrate some of the toughest and most skilled hockey players in the history of the NHL.

Master Items
We are releasing 5 different Heavy Hitters Master Items (available in packs and sets), all of which have boosted Body Checking, and Durability attributes.

• Chris Chelios 90 OVR (Chicago Blackhawks)
• Darren McCarty 90 OVR (Detroit Red Wings)
• Jake Muzzin 90 OVR (Toronto Maple Leafs)
• Ryan Reaves 90 OVR (Vegas Golden Knights)
• Tom Wilson 90 OVR (Washington Capitals)

Chris Chelios Set
For those of you who already have the 87 OVR Master Icon Chris Chelios, there will be a set available to upgrade him to the Heavy Hitters version.

Player Items
There will be two weeks of Player Item releases, which similar to the Master Items will include boosted Body Checking (Poke Check for goalies), and Durability. Week 1 features Cal Clutterbuck, Matthew Tkachuk, Terry O’Reilly, Marty McSorley, and Nicklas Kronwall to name a few – the rest can be seen on the in-game banner in HUT!

Week 2 Player Items will be revealed on November 1st.

Starter Pack
We will have an untradeable Starter Pack that includes 15 items, including a Gold Collectible and a guaranteed Heavy Hitters Player Item! This pack will be purchasable once per week of the event.

Challenges
We’ve designed a new Weekday Challenge track for this event to give everyone the chance to earn a Heavy Hitter Player Item to add to their lineup.

Step 1:
Collect 5 Heavy Hitters Collectibles from completing Weekday Challenges and trade them for a Dion Phaneuf Base Item.

Step 2:
Upgrade the Dion Phaneuf Base Item to a Choice (1 of 4) Dion Phaneuf Heavy Hitter Hitters Player Item through one of two paths:

Option A: Trade in your base Dion Phaneuf with Healing Items and Gold Players

Option B: Trade in your base Dion Phaneuf with Healing Items and 5 more Heavy Hitters collectibles earned through Challenges.
