Divisional Round Risers
Derrick Henry | RB | Tennessee Titans
The NFL’s regular season rushing king, Derrick Henry, kept on rolling into the postseason. Henry hung 182 yards and a touchdown on the New England Patriots. He rushed 34 times for a 5.4 yards per carry average and added one catch for 22 receiving yards. It looked like he was 100 percent healthy, which is a good sign for him and the Titans after dealing with a nagging hamstring injury late in the regular season. Tennessee draws a tough matchup against the Baltimore Ravens in the Divisional Round where Henry is likely to be a large part of his offenses’ game plan again.
D.K. Metcalf | WR | Seattle Seahawks
Seattle’s dynamic rookie wideout D.K. Metcalf erupted on Wild Card weekend against the Eagles. He posted a 7-160-1 line on nine targets and ensured a victory for his Seahawks who will advance to play the Green Bay Packers in the Divisional Round. We knew at the start of the season that Metcalf was going to be a problem for opposing defenses, both in reality and in Madden NFL 20. But this was a clutch performance for the first-year pro and will result in a ratings boost.
Divisional Round Fallers
Tom Brady | QB | New England Patriots
Tom Brady was abysmal on Wild Card weekend, escaping a rare home defeat with just 209 pass yards, no touchdowns, and one costly interception that basically ended the game. Woof. Brady can still sling it, even at his advanced age, but the lack of talent around him really came to the forefront against the Titans last weekend. Brady will be pegged with one last slip in the ratings to end his season. He’s the GOAT, he will be just fine.
Drew Brees | QB | New Orleans Saints
The usually turnover-proof Saints quarterback, Drew Brees, was responsible for two against the Vikings last weekend. He lost a fumble, threw a pick, and threw for just 208 yards and one touchdown. The game was decided in overtime, where the Vikings won it on their first possession. With both the Saints and Patriots knocked out of the postseason, are we witnessing a changing-of-the-guard at the quarterback position? Time will tell.
