4. Design Challenges

Daily Challenges

The Daily Design Challenge is a great place to show off your creativity, and test out your design inspirations.

This Challenge is only available for 24 hours and has no Challenge Requirements, just be sure to fill all the Blue Bubbles.

Be sure to come back every day to enter the Daily Challenge!

Design Challenge Categories

To view and enter Design Challenges, tap on the House Icon at the bottom of your screen.

On this page, you will see three categories: Live Challenges, Awaiting Results, and Past Challenges.

Live Challenges are Design Challenges that are open for you to enter.

Awaiting Results are Design Challenges that are now closed and presently in voting. The amount of time the Challenge will remain in voting will be visible in the top left hand corner of the Challenge Image, next to the Thumbs-Up Icon.

Past Challenges are Design Challenges that are closed for entry and their results have been posted. If you entered a Challenge, the image will be colored and you can tap on it to view Your Design alongside the Top Designs. If you did not enter one of these Challenges, the image will be grey.

Why Is there a Clock on the Design Challenge?

Each live Design Challenge has a Clock Icon showing the amount of time the Challenge will remain open to new entries.

Once a Design Challenge closes and enters voting, you can no longer enter that Challenge. It moves down to the Awaiting Results Category where the Clock turns into a Thumbs-Up Icon and the hours remaining for voting on that specific Challenge.

How Do I Enter a Design Challenge?

You can enter a Design Challenge if it is listed in the Live Challenges page.

Tap the image to read the Event Details, see the Requirements, and view the Prizes.

Tap ""Enter Challenge"" to create your design.

Once you're in the Challenge, you will be shown the Requirements for that Challenge (if you are entering a Daily Challenge, there are no Requirements). Items in the Blue Bubbles are required items while the items in the Purple Bubbles are optional.

After you have tapped on a Requirement Filter or Furniture Bubble to begin selecting items, you can tap the Search Bar or Magnifying Glass to add Filters such as Brand, Material, and Color to further refine your search.

Once you have completed your design with all the Blue Bubbles furnished and have met the Requirements to enter the Challenge, you will see the ""Finish"" button turn green. Tap ""Finish"" for one more chance to review the Event Details, and then tap on ""Submit Design"" to submit your final design.

What Does It Cost To Enter a Design Challenge?

Each Challenge shows the cost in Keys needed to enter.

The amount of Keys needed to enter is listed on the second line under the name of the Challenge. This cost is deducted from your Key Balance when you finish designing your room and tap "Submit Design".

Can I edit a Design Challenge once I have submitted it?

Once a design is submitted you cannot edit your design. It will not be possible to remove a design once it has been submitted.

What are my Prizes for my 4.0 and 5.0 Scores from completed Challenges?

Once voting has ended, you may earn an Inventory Prize for a score of 4.0 or higher. If you earned a 5.0 score you will receive a bonus of Diamonds.

If you did not win a Prize that you were looking forward to win, you can purchase Prize items in the Store by tapping the Shopping Cart icon at the bottom of your screen.

Removing Items From Your Design

To place an Item in your design, tap on one of the Bubble Icons, then on the Item of your choice from your Inventory or Store at the bottom of the screen. Your chosen Item will appear in the design. To replace this Item with another, simply choose a different Item from the Store. Your initial choice should be replaced with the new Item.

You can also remove an Item by tapping twice on the Item in your design, or by tapping the Item's Store Image at the bottom of the screen.

Can I delete my old Design Challenges?

Unfortunately, you cannot remove old designs as they factor into your Design Value.

Why don't I have more Design Challenges available each day?

We do not have an exact schedule for when Design Challenges are released so you may see more Challenges some days than others.

You may also see some types of Challenges more frequently than others. We recommend that you check the Design Challenge page regularly so you don’t miss out!

What is a Wayback Challenge?

A Wayback Challenge is a special throwback to an old Challenge.

What Are Design Challenge Requirements?

Players must fulfill all of the Challenge Requirements to enter a Design Challenge (except for the Daily Challenge, which has no Requirements).

Some Challenges require you to use specific items, such as furniture in a certain Color, Style, or Brand.

Challenge Requirements are shown below Event Details on the slide-out screen that appears after you tap "Enter" from the Challenge Page. Also when you first enter a Challenge, the Requirements will be listed underneath the Design Window.

Once you are in a Challenge, you may tap on the requirement text and it'll automatically filter out the items for that specific requirement. You can also tap on the Magnifying Glass or Filter Bar just below the Design Window and then tap on Requirements from the drop down menu to select a specific Requirement. Any items that fulfill this Requirement will appear for use in the "Owned" and/or "Shop" sections of the Store. (Not every item that you own will appear for use in every Design Challenge because of real world sizing restrictions.)
The button to the right of the Filter Bar shows you how many Requirements you have met in the current Challenge. Tapping this button will bring you back to the Event Details screen, where the Requirements are listed (tap  "Back" to return to the Challenge again).

Finally, you can tap the Info (i) Icon in the upper right hand corner of the Design Challenge Screen to see the Requirements for the current Challenge.

When do I receive my Prizes for completed Challenges?

Prizes for completed Challenges are sent via in-game message after those Challenges have gone through the voting process.

Tap the Person/Face icon in the bottom right corner then tap on the Inbox tab to view your message. Scroll down and look out for your Challenge Results message and tap on it to open the message to retrieve the prize and automatically be added to your inventory.

You can find your prizes in your inventory by tapping on the Shopping Cart icon.

Designs that are presently in voting will state “Results in X Day”.

What Are the Bubble Icons In My Room?

Why Is There a Tag on my Items?

When you are designing a room, Tags will remain on the Items that you have not purchased yet.

You can have up to two unpurchased Items in your room while designing. If you place more than two Items with the Tag still on them, one of the unpurchased Items will disappear from the room.

Make sure to purchase all of the unowned Items in the room in order to enter a Challenge.

Why are my scores so low?

Although your Designs may resemble those you see in the top designs, your score is determined by Design Home players' votes.

We don't have control over how other players vote. Our systems do not adjust or determine your scores.

Why is my Design appearing delayed?

If your results are delayed, please be sure to clear your in-game cache. Please tap on the Person/Face icon at the bottom right corner of your screen.
Tap the Gear/Settings Icon next to your Profile Picture to access your ”Account Settings”.
