eMLS is back for the 2024 season, including a new competitive platform and players for 22 clubs that represent the global growth of the league. The first edition to be played as part of FC Pro features two marquee League Series events in February and March, concluding with the eMLS Cup on March 10 in Austin during South by Southwest.
There will be another first, as former Canada national team and Vancouver Whitecaps FC striker Tosaint Ricketts - who goes by the name eightysvn - becomes the first former MLS player to participate in eMLS, having made over 250 professional appearances in his decade-long football career.
As eMLS continues to grow on a global scale, this year’s edition will feature international stars like 2023 eMLS Cup champion Niklas “NR7” Raseck with St. Louis CITY SC looking to defend his title, 2022 eMLS Cup champion Paulo Neto with Atlanta United, JAFONSO with New England Revolution, Ollelito with New York City FC and Diogo Mendes with Austin FC.
eMLS utilises gaming to reach global audiences, raise the profile of MLS, and grow its next generation of fans. The 2024 campaign will be another step towards achieving those goals.
