The much-anticipated matchup between FC Lorient and Olympique Lyonnais in the eLigue 1 Uber Eats final will be a series the FC community talks about for a long time.

FC Lorient would eventually lift the trophy, but it didn’t come easy as Olympique Lyonnais took them to the final game.

Match 1 - Fouma (FC Lorient) vs Leks (Olympique Lyonnais)

Fouma set the tone early on for FC Lorient with a convincing victory over Leks in Match 1.

Intricate passing across the ground was the key to Fouma’s first goal, before scoring a green-timed shot off a step-over, which has become a trademark move of the French legend. Fouma added to his lead in the 35th minute, taking advantage of a mistake by Leks before smashing it home with Muani.

Leks attempted to stage a comeback in the second-half, but Fouma was able to hang on and get the first win of the competition.

Match 2 - Dylo (OL) vs Montaxer (FCL)

With FC Lorient securing the win in the first game, it was imperative for both teams that the second victory would go in their favour.

This led to a tense game where Dylo and Montaxter had multiple opportunities to score during regular and extra time, but good defending stopped them from putting the ball in the back of the net. A particular highlight of the game was Dylo using fantastic goalkeeper movement to stop Montaxer from taking the lead from a powerful Zaire-Emery header.

An intense penalty shootout where both players had shots saved eventually led to Dylo saving Montaxer’s penalty to win the game. This caused an incredible response from the crowd who cheered on Dylo throughout the game.

Match 3 - Montaxer (FCL) vs Leks (OL)

A quick start from Leks in Match 3 turned this game into an intriguing battle as Montaxer had to find a way to bounce back.

Still reeling from his loss against Dylo in the previous game, Montaxer found it difficult to find his rhythm due to Leks’ pressing game. His constant pressure paid off as he eventually scored an amazing finesse shot with Kolo Muani for the first goal.

However, Montaxer refused to give up and in the 85 minute he was able to break through with a fantastic player lock pass that led to a lovely strike from Henry.

With the game now in extra-time and momentum firmly on his side, Montaxer pressed on, eventually scoring with the last kick of the game after a sensational cutback from Vieria to Mbappe.

Match 4 - Fouma (FCL) vs Dylo (OL)

If Match 3 wasn’t enough drama for FC fans then Match 4 certainly filled that quota, as Fouma and Dylo went toe-to-toe in one of the best games of the year.

Fouma opened the scoring once again with a double step-over before connecting with a green-timed shot with Henry. However, Dylo pegged him back instantly, using an elastico to get past the defender before smashing the ball home.

Dylo doubled his lead early in the second half with a scuffed shot that went over the goalkeeper, but a poor switch from the OL player allowed Fouma to tie the game and make it 2-2. Sadly for Fouma, Dylo scored a minute later, taking a leaf out of Fouma’s book and hitting a step-over before scoring a green-timed shot.

The goals continued to fly in for both players as Fouma drew level again with a well-timed header. However, Dylo would not be denied, as he scored a magnificent game-winner with Henry in the dying seconds.

Match 5 - Dylo (OL) vs Montaxer (FCL)

With the crowd on their feet and cheering on Dylo and Leks, Montaxer had the tough task of trying to get a win back for his team.

It didn’t go to plan in the beginning as Dylo opened the scoring late in the first-half, after breaking the offside trap couldn’t stop Mbappe as a driven pass was sent directly to his feet. However, Montaxer was able to bounce back seconds later with a fantastic goal of his own.

This swung momentum in the Italian’s favour in the second half as he continued his search for a goal. He finally got his wish in the 87th minute after smashing home a shot from the edge of the box with Warren Zaire-Emery.

Match 6 - Leks vs Fouma

With FC Lorient securing their third win of the night, Olympique Lyonnais required one more win to ensure they still had a chance of winning the trophy.

Fouma opened the scoring within the first minutes with a well-placed shot from Henry, adding more pressure to Leks and his teammates. However, Leks maintained his composure and scored on the brink of half time to make it 1-1.

Two goals for both players during extra-time would take the game to penalties once again. Luckily for Leks - and the many fans in attendance - he was able to save Foumas first penalty and ensure OL’s fight for the title continued.

Match 7 - Leks vs Montaxer

After six incredible games filled with drama and incredible moments, the eLigue 1 Uber Eats Final came down to the game between Leks and Montaxer.

Leks gained the lead within the first 10 minutes after some pinpoint accurate passes led to Dembele slotting home from just inside the box. However, Montaxer would not be denied as he got one back just before half-time with a cut back to Dembele.

The game would continue to be an intense contest going into extra-time as they traded opportunities to score. In the end, Montaxer would create the game-winner following a trademark cutback to Henry, giving FC Lorient their fourth eLigue 1 Uber Eats title in a row.
