FC Pro Open 25 | Who is in Group C?
Emre Yilmaz
World Ranking: 6
Team: Team Gullit
Emre Yilmaz proved many times to the EA SPORTS FC community that he should never be counted out when he’s competing on the big stage.
Yilmaz has had plenty of success on the international stage, having made it to the semi-finals of his first international tournament. However, it was his success during 2023 eChampions League that ensured he would be named among the sport’s elite players.
Yilmaz’s eChampions League 2023 run was filled with difficult opponents, including previous winner nicolas99fc, Anders Vejrgang, Stingrayjr, Umut, and HezerS. However, he was able to lift the trophy and add his name to the history books.
It was a similar story during last season’s FC Pro Open as he battled his way through the FC Pro Open Global Qualifier, before a successful run during the Group Stage, where he topped the group with an impressive 6-1-1 record.
He would go on to lose 8-2 to eventual winner PHzin in the FC Pro Open semi-finals but earned a spot in the FC Pro World Championship for making it to that stage of the competition. Since then he’s finished in the top two of the KPN eDivisie Finals and secured a top-four finish in eChampions League 2024.
With his invitation to this year’s competition confirmed, he now has the chance to redeem himself in this year’s FC Pro Open and add another cup to his cabinet.
Yuval
World Ranking: 29
Team: Gaimin Gladiators
Yuval has been an active competitor for many years, earning impressive wins on the international scene and competing regularly in club competitions. 2024 saw him continue his ascension up the rankings as he had some huge performances in major competitions.
A spectacular 4-3 win over two legs during last season’s eLiga Portugal 2024 competition ensured that he would have the chance to at least compete in the FC Pro World Championship Play-Ins.
Carrying the momentum from winning the Portuguese league, Yuval dominated Group D at the Play-Ins, earning four wins and going undefeated to secure his spot in the next stage of the FC Pro World Championship.
Despite the competition level rising, Yuval didn’t seem to be bothered by the opponents put in front of him as he went on to defeat some of the biggest names in the tournament. Victories over LALIGA FC Pro winner nicolas99fc (twice) in the Group Stage, eMLS Cup winner Jafonso, eChampions League 2023 winner Emre Yilmaz and former World Champion ManuBachoore proved that he could hang with the sport’s most elite players.
Although he was unable to win the Finals, he did secure his spot in this year’s FC Pro Open. Last season he was only able to make it through to the FC Pro Open Global Qualifier, but after his sensational performance in the FC Pro World Championship, he could turn out to be the dark horse of the tournament.
Obrun
World Ranking: 28
Team: Exeed
Obrun’s journey began during FIFA 20, but it was his leap into the top 17 the following year that marked him as a rising star. By FIFA 22, he had cemented his place among the elite players in the sport with a remarkable top 3–4 finish at the World Championship—an achievement he repeated in 2023.
Making history as the first Italian to qualify for two consecutive world championships, Obrun consistently proves he’s one of the best EA SPORTS FC players in the world. The FC community had even more chances to witness his skill last season when he competed in the FC Pro Open, securing second place in Group X after defeating renowned opponents such as Tekkz, Levi de Weerd, and The1OS.
Despite a narrow 3–2 loss to eChampions League 2023 winner Emre Yilmaz in the FC Pro Open quarter-finals, Obrun’s hunger for success only grew. Determined to lift the trophy, he returned this year with renewed focus, which was evident in his dominant performance at the FC Pro Open Global Qualifier.
Obrun secured his place in this year’s competition by going undefeated in the qualifier. With seven wins, 40 goals scored, and only 14 goals conceded against top-tier opponents, including Tekkz, ManuBachoore, and Mark11, Obrun has proven he’s a strong contender to claim this year’s title.
Tekkz
World Ranking: 11
Team: Manchester City
Manchester City’s Tekkz made a dazzling entrance onto the competitive scene, announcing himself to the world by winning the FUT 18 Champions Cup in Barcelona at just 16 years old. Not only did he achieve this remarkable feat at such a young age, but he also defeated one of the greatest players of all time, Nicolas99fc, in a stunning final. The then-teenager delivered a commanding 9–3 victory, including a dominant 6–1 performance in the second leg.
Since that incredible triumph, Tekkz has only risen higher, adding multiple ePremier League titles, five FUT Champions Cups, and the eChampions League 2020 Invitational trophy to his illustrious resume. Ever the fierce competitor, his performance at last season’s FC Pro Open will undoubtedly have fuelled his determination to succeed this year.
Last year, Tekkz started the FC Pro Open slowly, going winless in Match Week 4. However, he nearly pulled off a miraculous comeback in Match Week 8, needing just one more goal to secure his place in the FC Pro Open Finals. Unfortunately, a narrow loss to Obrun in a critical match kept him from advancing.
While missing qualification by such a slim margin was a tough blow, it also made this year’s tournament all the more significant for him. That drive was on full display in the FC Pro Open Global Qualifier, where Tekkz overcame Bandar in the Losers’ Bracket to keep his dream alive.
Now, Tekkz has the opportunity to make up for last season’s story, prove his resilience, and secure his place in the FC Pro Open Finals.
GuiBarros
World Ranking: 14
Team: RBLZ Gaming
GuiBarros has a story that many fans can relate to—a journey from casual gamer to professional EA SPORTS FC player inspired by a love for the game. Growing up, the American-born, Brazilian-raised player watched his father play, sparking his own interest in picking up the controller. When the pandemic hit, GuiBarros decided to take his passion more seriously, diving into competitive play.
Competing in South America—arguably one of the toughest regions in esports—GuiBarros’ talent quickly propelled him to the top. His breakthrough came in the CONMEBOL eLibertadores, where he reached the final but fell short against his then-teammate, NathanSR99.
Far from discouraged, GuiBarros continued to showcase his skill on the global stage. He delivered strong performances at the FC Pro World Championship, advancing to the Knockout Stage before a narrow 2-0 loss to Emre Yilmaz in Round 1.
This year, GuiBarros demonstrated his growth and resilience once again during the FC Pro Open Global Qualifier. With six impressive wins, he secured his place in the competition, solidifying his reputation as one of Brazil’s rising stars.
As he enters this year’s FC Pro Open, GuiBarros is poised to prove that he has what it takes to become the next big name in Brazilian esports.
Umut
World Ranking: 7
Team: RBLZ Gaming
Umut’s talents as an EA SPORTS competitor were recognised early, earning him plaudits from an early age. At 17-years-old, he showcased his growing potential by winning the FUT Champions Cup, cementing his place as one of the sport's rising stars.
Since signing with Red Bull Leipzig, Umut has continued to build an impressive legacy. His accolades include back-to-back World Championships in 2022 and 2023, a Virtual Bundesliga triumph in 2021, and a runner-up finish at UEFA eEuro 2024, where he faced off against his Red Bull Leipzig teammate, Anders Vejrgang.
This year marks Umut’s second appearance at the FC Pro Open. In his debut last season, he navigated the Group Stage with an excellent record of five wins, two draws, and just one loss. However, his journey ended in the quarter-finals with a tough 4–1 defeat to Levi de Weerd, a result that stung given his strong group-stage performances.
Qualifying for this year’s competition proved just as challenging. After a 4–1 loss to Nicolas99fc in the Winner’s Bracket Final of the FC Pro Open Global Qualifier, Umut faced one final test to secure his place. He battled eSerie A Goleador 2023/24 champion HHezerS in a thrilling 6–6 draw, ultimately prevailing on penalties in what was arguably the tournament’s most exciting match.
Now confirmed for this year’s FC Pro Open, the question remains: will Umut add yet another trophy to his already impressive collection?
