The FC Pro Open 25 has kicked off the FC Pro season in spectacular fashion, uniting 24 of the world’s best EA SPORTS FC™ players to compete for a share of a massive $532,000 prize pool and a coveted invitation to the FC Pro World Championship.
The journey now leads to the FC Pro Open Finals, where a new champion will be crowned on Saturday, February 1, at 4 PM GMT live on Twitch and YouTube.
Group A
Stingray may not have been the favourite to top Group A heading into the FC Pro Open, but the Englishman delivered a performance worthy of any champion.
In Match Week 1, Stingray earned nine points from a possible 15, with losses to Jafonso and NikSNEB leaving him in third place heading into Match Week 5.
However, his return to the FC Pro Open stage was nothing short of spectacular. Stingray went on an undefeated run, finishing the Group Stage with 24 points—the highest tally of any player in this year’s competition.
His standout moment came in the final game of the Group Stage, where he demolished Esports World Champion and former world number one Jafonso with an emphatic 7-1 victory, securing his spot in the FC Pro World Championship In stunning fashion.
Group B
FC Pro World Champion Anders Vejrgang reaffirmed his status as one of the greatest EA SPORTS FC™ players in the world by dominating Group B and finishing with 21 points.
The RBLZ Gaming standout showcased his lethal goal-scoring ability and tactical brilliance throughout the competition, earning victories over elite opponents like nicolas99fc, Manu Bachoore, and LJR Peixoto. His efficiency and composure ensured that he maintained his position as one of the most feared competitors on the FC Pro Open stage.
Upon returning for Match Week 5, Vejrgang rediscovered his rhythm, locking up Group B with a commanding performance. His efforts not only secured his progression to the next round of the competition but also earned him a coveted spot in the FC Pro World Championship, further solidifying his legacy as a true titan of the game.
Group C
Widely regarded as this year’s Group of Death, Group C left fans and pundits unsure of who would emerge victorious. However, as the competition progressed, one player rose above the rest: Italy’s Obrun.
With an impressive record of six wins out of 10 in the tournament’s toughest group, the Exeed representative demonstrated why he should be considered a favourite to go all the way in this year’s FC Pro Open.
Notable victories against elite opponents like Umut, GuiBarros, and Tekkz secured his place in the next stage of the competition. If Obrun can maintain the momentum he’s built so far, he’ll undoubtedly be a formidable challenge for anyone standing in his way.
Group D
Group D of the FC Pro Open delivered non-stop surprises and drama, with the battle for the top spot going down to the very last game of the event. While it initially looked as though AbuMakkah would finish at the top, it was Team Gullit’s Levi de Weerd who ultimately claimed the spot, edging out his rival thanks to goal difference.
The race for the group lead was a chaotic affair, involving the world number one, AbuMakkah, whose late-stage struggles saw him lose three out of his final five games. This unexpected slump opened the door for Levi de Weerd, who capitalised on AbuMakkah’s poor form to secure the top position.
It was a dramatic conclusion to one of the most competitive groups in the tournament, setting the stage for even more intense action in the next round.
With the stage now set, all eyes turn to London, England, as the world’s elite players prepare for the ultimate showdown. Don’t miss the FC Pro Open Finals as the 2025 champion is crowned!
