Match Week 7 of the FC Pro Open was widely anticipated to be the most intense competition of the season, with the six elite EA SPORTS FC™ players in Group C separated by the finest of margins as the event kicked off.

The action didn’t disappoint, delivering a drama-filled spectacle as Obrun fought his way to the top of the group, securing his spot in the FC Pro Open Finals, set to take place on Saturday, February 1, at 4 PM GMT, live on Twitch and YouTube.

With so much happening during this thrilling week, here are the biggest storylines to emerge from Match Week 7.

Obrun’s tops Group C

Obrun’s performance in the FC Pro Open serves as a textbook example for future players. The Italian star laid a solid foundation during Match Week 3, finishing at the top of his group with 11 points, ahead of Emre Yilmaz, Yuval, and Umut, who each had seven points.

Even though he suffered a setback with a loss to Tekkz in his first game of Match Week 7, Obrun had already created enough of a cushion to stay in contention for the top spot. Determined to bounce back, the Exeed representative delivered crucial victories over GuiBarros, Umut, and Emre Yilmaz, solidifying his position as the group leader.

While Match Week 7 presented a greater challenge, Obrun demonstrated his champion’s mentality, fighting his way to the top and proving why he remains one of the most formidable players in the FC Pro Open.

Tough night in London

While it was all smiles for Obrun, Emre Yilmaz, and Yuval as they secured their spots in the FC Pro Open Finals, the competition also witnessed the shocking early exits of two of the sport’s biggest names, Umut and Tekkz.

For Tekkz, the challenge was always going to be steep after finishing Match Week 3 with just four points. However, with only one win separating him from the qualification spots held by Umut, Yuval, and Emre Yilmaz, and an impressive victory over Obrun in the first game of the night, both Umut and Tekkz appeared to have a real shot at advancing.

Unfortunately, multiple losses for both players dashed their hopes, sending them crashing out of the competition. They will now need to find success in their respective Partner Leagues to secure their entry into this year’s FC Pro World Championship.

RBLZ Gaming Derby

The highly anticipated rematch between RBLZ Gaming teammates, Umut and GuiBarros, had fans buzzing after their first encounter ended in a shocking 5-3 victory for GuiBarros.

This time, it seemed like Umut was set to take revenge as he stormed to a 3-0 lead, dominating the early stages of the match. However, GuiBarros showcased incredible resilience and refused to back down, delivering the comeback of the season to secure an astonishing 4-3 victory.

It was another unforgettable clash between them, cementing their rivalry as one of the highlights of the FC Pro Open.
