FC Pro World Championship Knockout stage Recap

Jonny vs. Vejrgang

Anders Vejrgang continued his fantastic run in the competition with a commanding performance against eChampions League winner Jonny in their Round of 16 game.

The Dane kept the pressure on Jonny throughout the game, stifling his usually potent attack for long periods. Anders' defence was solid, but it was his attack that shone through as he scored some incredible goals.

The pick of the bunch was his second goal, where he unleashed an unstoppable combination of skill moves before providing the perfect pass to score an exceptional goal.

Vejrgang wins 4-2

Levyfinn vs HezerS

eSerie A TIM champion HezerS had a solid showing against a tough opponent in Levyfinn, beating the German 4-2 in a back-and-forth game.

Many felt this game could’ve gone either way, but HezerS was the one who managed to come out on top. In typical HezerS' style, the key to his victory was his ability to create wave after wave of attack to ensure that Levy remained on the back foot for most of the game.

HezerS wins 4-2

xcharifx vs NathanSR99

20240712 Day 3 FC24 World Chamiponship Berlin @KonkolMichal-134

xcharifx’s incredible journey through the FC Pro World Championship continues following a dramatic win over CONMEBOL eLibertadores winner NathanSR99.

Despite being 3-0 down, the Morrocan brought it back to 3-3 all within the first half. Once xcharifx drew level, both men began to trade the lead as they put defence to the side to have a largely offensive battle. It was thrilling for everyone watching, as they had the most exciting match of the tournament so far.

Thankfully for xcharifx, he scored a winner in extra time and used an exceptional last-ditch tackle to keep his dream alive.

xcharifx wins 6-5

Virgil vs AbuMakkah

Abu Makkah put on a show for EA FC fans to watch as he dismantled eSerie A TIM’s Virgil with relative ease. Virgil was unable to get near the eSPL winner for the majority of the game as he showboated and scored some fantastic goals.

His final goal was the icing on the cake, as he landed a fantastic ball roll before scoring a chip shot to send Virigl packing from the competition.

AbuMakkah wins 5-2

Emre Yilmaz vs GuiBarros10

Former eChampions League champion Emre Yilmaz was able to come away with the victory against a very tough GuiBarros10 in their Round of 16 matchup.

Yilmaz was superior to the Brazilian throughout the match, using a strong defensive structure to stop his opponent from scoring and taking advantage of key moments to put the ball in the back of the net himself.

The Team Gullit player might feel frustrated that he couldn't add to the scoreline, but he’ll be happy to make it to the final eight.

Emre Yilmaz wins 2-0.

Yuval vs Manu Bachoore

After defeating former World Champion Nicolas99fc in the Group stage, Yuval caused another massive upset during the Knockout stage with a one-sided win over another former World Champion in Manu Bachoore.

The F.C. Famalicão player was able to take Bachoore apart with precise passing and deadly finishing, sending the Dutchman crashing out of the competition in the Round of 16.

Yuval wins 5-2

Maxkoelemaij vs Jafonso

Jafonso booked his ticket to the next round with a scintillating victory over Ajax's Maxkoelemaij.

Jafonso had to be on his toes against Max, as he'd proven that he was a formidable player during the Group stage. However, the eMLS Cup winner was able to shut down his attack and exploit the holes within his defence.

Now Jafonso will take on K1John in the Final Eight in a rematch of the eMLS Cup finals from earlier this year.

Jafonso wins 4-1

Levi de Weerd vs K1John

Inter Miami CF's K1John gave EA FC fans another shocking upset to watch as he defeated Team Gullit's Levi de Weerd in a sensational battle.

Levi was in control for large portions of the game, but K1John refused to give up at any point in the match. His persistence would pay off as he would draw level to make it 5-5 and give himself a fighting chance of winning.

The Egyptian star would eventually score in the dying moments of regular time, standing up and raising his finger to his lips to silence Levi's fans.

K1John wins 6-5
