Match Week 5 of the FC Pro Open delivered its fair share of surprises, with the biggest of which was Stingray’s flawless performance to claim the top spot in Group A.
The 21-year-old showcased his dominance by defeating Jafonso, NikSNEB, FacuCowen, xcharifx, and Mark11. This perfect run secured Stingray a place in the FC Pro Open Finals and qualified him for the upcoming FC Pro World Championship.
Reflecting on his incredible week, Stingray expressed his pride and determination: "To have a perfect performance like I managed in Match Week 5 not only filled me with confidence but also proved my claim that I feel unbeatable when I’m on top of my game," he said.
One of the highlights of Stingray’s run was his rematch against Esports World Cup champion Jafonso, who had previously beaten him 6-1 in Match Week 1.
This time, the stakes were even higher, as the group’s top spot was on the line. However, Stingray approached the match with determination and focus instead of fear.
"I knew a loss like that would never happen again. All credit to Jafonso—he took his opportunity in Match Week 1—but that only made me more determined to win in Week 5. It almost feels poetic because the win made me qualify for the FC Pro World Championship," he explained.
Looking ahead, Stingray is already planning his strategy for the Finals and beyond.
"I just can’t believe I’m at the biggest event of the year six months early. I’ll be scouting every potential opponent to ensure I don’t get complacent."
