Francesco “Obrun2002” Tagliafierro’s passion for the game was passed onto him by his brother at a young age and he now represents Exeed, Hellas Verona, and Italy’s national team.
His esports career started during FIFA 20 before he took a step up to reach the top 17 the following year. After making his mark in FIFA 22 with a top 3-4 finish at the eWorld Cup, Obrun did the same again in 2023 to prove that he can perform with the best, having already become the first Italian to qualify for two consecutive World Cups. The 21-year-old also won the eSerie A title in 2022 with Torino going on to beat Venezia 7-6 in the final.
For Exeed, the 21-year-old has made impressive strides forward, placing inside the top six in the 2023 eChampions League, before reaching the last 16 of the eClub World Cup. Currently ranked 17th in Europe in the eGlobal Series, Obrun will be looking to build on his impressive end to the 2022-23 season.
In a recap of his FIFA 23 campaign, he remarked on Twitter: "FIFA 22 was for sure my first big year in the scene, and I knew that would be so difficult to keep the same level on FIFA 23, but I managed to achieve even more."
Since joining the esports team in October 2022, the Italian has won 39 games out of 68, leaving him with an impressive win rate of just over 57%.
