Paulo Henrique de Souza Chaves Ferreira, better known online as PHzin, is a 20-year-old professional esports player from Brazil. The Ajax star first made his name on FIFA 20, reaching the last 16 of the FUT 20 Champions Cup Stage III at the age of just 17. His exploits earned him $3,500 in prize money and proved to be a springboard for his future triumphs.

The following year would be a momentous one for PHzin, who won his first A-Tier title in the form of the 2021 eClub World Cup - South America. The win was by far the biggest of his career up until that point, earning the youngster a $23,000 prize. Elsewhere that year he also reached the final of the eLibertadores, losing to long-time rival – and fellow Brazilian - Resende.

Between January 2021 and June 2022, PHzin represented the R10 Team with distinction, adding an eLibertadores title to his name in 2022, as well as placing first in the FIFA 22 Global Series LatAm South Qualifier. In doing so, he was selected to represent Brazil in that year’s eNations Series and eNations Cup.

While Brazil would ultimately lose 4-3 to Argentina in the eNations Series South America Playoffs, the Samba Boys would bounce back just months later to win the coveted eNations Cup in July 2022. The Brazilian team - comprising PHzin, Klinger, Crepaldi, and Gabgol7 - edged past Poland 2-1 in the final.

The Nations Cup has proved to be a happy hunting ground for Paulo Henrique, as he and his teammates successfully defended Brazil’s title in 2023 after they defeated a strong Dutch side in the final. It was a fine year overall for the Brazilians, as they exacted revenge on Argentina by winning the eNations Series South America Playoffs thanks to a 4-2 victory.

Away from the international game, PHzin has also been successful for his new team, Ajax eSports, whom he joined from R10 in 2022. As Ajax’s star player, he’s led by example, winning the 2023 eClub Series 2023 South American Playoffs against SPQR Academy, while also finishing as runner-up in the 2023 eLiberatadores – his third final appearance in as many years.

PHzin finished as runner-up in the FC Pro Cup #2, and was a semi-finalist in the 2023 eWorld Cup - losing 5-3 to Australian Mark11. His consistent form has earned plenty of plaudits and - even more crucially - points, with PHzin now the number one-ranked player in the world.

Not wanting to let the world’s top-ranked player leave, Ajax re-signed PHzin and his Brazilian teammate/rival Resende to new contracts earlier this year, keeping the dynamic duo in Amsterdam until at least 2025. For club and country, it's arguably the most devastating duo in all of EA SPORTS FC.

PHzin has also provided a reminder of his skill in the FC Pro Open, topping Group B to qualify for the Quarter Finals.
