Donovan Hunt – commonly known as Tekkz – was one of the most successful players in the FIFA era of professional esports and the Fnatic player is among the biggest names associated with EA Sports FC Pro.
Some potential esports players have to convince their parents that EA FC can be a viable career, but that wasn’t the case for Tekkz with his mum. After she’d heard about her son beating his friends and getting victories against two of the world’s best professionals in Division One, she entered him into an online tournament.
Tekkz took the next step up at just 16 years old, announcing himself to the world by winning the FUT 18 Champions Cup in Barcelona, beating Nicolas99fc by a massive score of 9-3 in the final – including a 6-1 victory in the second leg.
Now 21, he has won a whole host of competitions including the eClub World Cup and eChampions League, while taking his tally of FUT Champs Cups to five.
He also became the first-ever winner of the ePremier League after defeating Manchester United’s KyleLeese_ 6-2 in the final. To make that victory even sweeter, Tekkz was representing Liverpool – the club he has supported since his childhood.
Tekkz will no longer be competing in the red of Liverpool, though, as he has made a high-profile move to Manchester City. One thing he does still have his mind on is winning the eWorld Cup.
He also offered a reminder of how formidable he can be during the FC Pro Open Global Qualifier, winning all seven of his matches at The Troubadour, scoring 32 goals and conceding 14.
Away from competing against fellow professional EA Sports FC players, Tekkz has faced the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Raheem Sterling, Declan Rice, and Diogo Jota.
