Saudi Arabian eSports is currently in the midst of a golden period, with The1OS being the latest star player to emerge from the Middle East.
Following in the footsteps of MSDossary and AbuMakkah, the 21-year-old has shown tremendous potential in 2023, having successfully qualified for the FC Pro Open after reaching the FIFA 23 Global Series Playoffs earlier this year.
In the playoffs, he lost to Neissat and Tekkz but gained experience from both encounters that was no doubt invaluable.
This success caught the eye of Middle-Eastern giants Twisted Minds, who signed him in June from Dragon Esports. One notable performance that surely caught the eye was when he helped Dragon finish fourth in the FIFAe Club Series 2023 Middle East Playoffs.
His journey to the FC Pro Open began in October with the Regional Qualifiers: Middle East. During this stage, he won all four of his games to safely advance to the Global Qualifier in London.
The10S was in top form during the Swiss Stage, beating MUAE14, Gabrielpn, Kokkova and Neissat to secure his place in the knockout round – with his only defeat being to BerkayLion.
The knockout stage would provide a unique test, as after beating MUAE14 once again in his first match, The1OS was just edged out by fellow countryman AbuMakkah. This left him needing another victory over Kekkova to earn his spot amongst the 20 players at the FC Pro Open.
Just as he did in the Swiss Stage, the young Saudi closed out a 4-2 win to take the final spot on the final night of the knockout round.
His task of making it to the FC Pro Open Final won’t be easy, as he has arguably been drawn into the hardest Group of all. In Group D, he'll meet Obrun, Manchester City superstar Tekkz, Levi de Weerd and Fouma.
