Hello EA SPORTS FC™ Mobile fans,
EA SPORTS FC™ Mobile is sporting a brand new training system that helps you to level up Players while adding a personal touch with the new Skills system. In this Deep Dive we will be taking a closer look into each way to train your Players and get matchday ready!
Before we jump into the finer details of the new training let’s start with the basics. Upgrading Players is a great way to increasing their attributes and OVR.
Upgrading Players can be done in three different ways:
You’ll notice that all forms of training are intertwined to bring your Players’ attributes to the max. In this Deep Dive we’ll be providing an in-depth explanation with examples, so let’s get to it!
Ranking up Players means that you’re increasing their OVR, max training level and you’ll receive a Skill Point. Let's focus on the OVR to start with. Every time that you rank a Player, his OVR is increased by 1. You can rank up a Player up to five times, meaning that you can upgrade an 88 OVR Player to a 93 OVR Player for example.
The OVR of your Players helps you increase your Team OVR. Having a higher Team OVR in VS Attack and in League vs League impacts your scoring chances.
Tap on a Player in your Club and then tap on the “Ranking” button to start ranking up your Player. If you see the message that you don’t have any eligible Players, then that’s because you don’t have a duplicate Player in your inventory, or that you have fully trained your Player.
Ranking up a Player consumes duplicate versions of that Player Item. You will need to use the same version of that Player, you cannot use a Base Player Item to rank up an Event Player Item in most cases.
The rank of a Player is indicated by the colour of the gem on the Player Item, helping you identify to which level a Player has been ranked. The amount of ranks that your Player has is also displayed in the rank up menu.
Ranked Players can now be sold and acquired through the Market! The price of the ranked Players depends on the amount of ranks, with more ranks meaning a higher price on the Market. This allows for even more flexibility when building your team.
In addition to the increased OVR, ranking a Player also increases their maximum Training Level. Each time that you rank up a Player you’ll unlock 5 additional Training Levels. Ranking a Player to Level 5 means that you have unlocked all 30 Training Levels.
Each time that you increase a Players’ Training Level, you’ll upgrade his attributes. For example, with a higher Pace your Player can accelerate and run faster, with better Shooting he can perform faster and more accurate shots compared to his untrained version.
Training a Player to Level 30 and assigning Skills maximizes the player’s attributes.
To train a Player, you need to tap on the Player in your Club and select “Training”. From there, you’ll be greeted with a screen where you can use other Players as Training XP. Doing this will increase their Training Level (the number is displayed over the Gem on their item) and with each level their attributes are increased.
The amount of Training XP that a Player gives depends on his OVR, higher OVR Players usually give more Training XP. However, there is one exception; Players that you have trained previously will give the base amount of XP plus the amount of XP per level that you used to train him.
With every Rank Up you will receive a Skill Point. They are used to improve specific attributes of your Players where you think it matters most. For every position there will be normal and advanced Skills available. Each time that you use a Skill Point on a Skill you will increase its level by 1. Normal Skills can go up to level 3, while advanced Skills can only go up by one level.
Advanced Skills will unlock after reaching level 3 for a selected normal Skill and they will provide a bigger boost in attributes than normal Skills.
Increasing the level of your Skills will also increase the Player’s Alternate Level. Alternate levels decrease the OVR penalty given when you place your Player in a different position than is shown on his Player Item.
There are two Alternate Levels, reach Level 1 by leveling a normal Skill to Level 2, and reach Level 2 by leveling an advanced Skill. The higher your Alternate Level is, the lower the OVR penalty will be when your Player is out of position.
Skill Points can be used instantly after ranking a Player by tapping on the Skill Points button. You can also choose to save up your Skill Points and use them later if you need a little more time to strategize on how to use them.
Access the Skill Points menu by viewing the details of your Player. From there tap on the switch symbol in the top left corner to switch from the 3D model view to the Player Item view. You’ll instantly see the Skill Points amount, tap on it to distribute them.
Ranked Players can be obtained from the Market. All of their Skill Points will be released when you get a Ranked Player and you’re free to redistribute the Skill Points as you see fit, no matter how they were previously used.
