The introduction of the Porsche 918 Spyder completes the Holy Trinity of hybrid hypercars in Need For Speed No Limits. Powered by both a 4.6-liter V8 engine and two electric motors, the Porsche 918 defies all preconceptions of what it means to be a hybrid. Even with its iconic Porsche silhouette, the Spyder manages to inch forward in aesthetics setting a strong benchmark for future hypercars. Now it's the prize car in Blackridge's second annual Devil's Run, this time passing through the newly opened Blackridge Mountain! The 2013 Porsche 918 Spyder will be earnable in Need for Speed No Limits during the Devil's Run: Alpine Storm Special Event starting June 30 (AEST).
This hardtop convertible hasn't seen much of a visual overhaul since it's inception in 1996. There have been some aesthetic adjustments to the Mercedes-AMG SLK 55 AMG - updated front and rear bumpers, new wing mirrors, and fresh rims - but why fix what isn't broken? Under the hood is a different matter entirely. What was V6 is now V8, 0-100 only takes 4.1 seconds, and a 7-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT PLUS transmission ensures an effortless ride to the red line and beyond. The three-letter badge on the back never looked so good. The 2016 Mercedes-AMG SLK 55 AMG will be earnable in Need for Speed No Limits during the Proving Grounds Special Event starting July 13 (AEST).
Looking to beef up your garage in NFS No Limits with some previously earnable cars? This update we'll be replaying 4 special events concurrently. special events for the 2015 Jaguar F-TYPE R Coupe, 2010 Lamborghini Murcielago SV, 2001 Nissan Skyline BNR34 GTR V.spec II, and 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28. Eligibility for each Special Event rerun is based on ownership of the previous cars. Already earned the Jaguar F-TYPE R? Then you'll be able to reattempt the Lamborghini Murcielago special event. Earned that too? Nice! Now you can work to earn the Skyline BNR34, and so forth. The Special Event reruns in Need For Speed No Limits will be available to play starting July 25 (AEST).
We've added new filtering options to both the Garage, as well as the pre-race car selection. Now you can filter your car options based on their class in order to help find your ideal ride. The last car raced in the series you're participating will now also become the default selection, rather than the highest PR car available. Have suggestions on what other UI improvements we can implement? Let us know on Twitter!
Whether you're back to command victory for a second year in a row or a fresh runner that's eager to topple the competition, prepare to fight from Blackridge to Novato and back!
