The Brothers Of Blackridge: Ryo & Hiroshi
This update of Need for Speed No Limits is the beginning of a new story and introduces some new characters: Ryo & Hiroshi. We want to give you an inside look at how these characters were created.
Ryo is new to the street racing scene and is looking to climb his way to the top. Ryo is one of the best up and coming street racers in Blackridge. Working an honest job by day, he competes in Street Races to earn money to support his family.
As the in-game event begins, Ryo is keen to compete, however, it requires a crew of at least 3 people. He brings his brother Hiroshi along, but needs one more racer.
That’s where you come in and our story kicks off.

When we were creating these new characters, I thought they would work well as Asian characters so I pushed for that with the designers as I feel we can always use greater diversity and representation. They were onboard which again, to me, highlights how awesome our company is with inclusiveness.
I also had fun painting them as I haven't had a huge chance to work on Asian characters in my career. The older brother, Ryo, is self assured, strong, somewhat arrogant but also caring towards those important to him.
Hiroshi is younger, more reserved, probably forgets to eat and is happy to live in his brother's shadow. But events happen and he's going to have to learn to stand on his own and learn to lead. I look forward to depicting his progression as a character.
