Planned for March 2023, NHL® 23 HUT will feature cross-console private match capabilities so you can play with your friends easier than ever. This update will allow you to invite your friends to a private match where you can play against them within your respective console generation. For example, if you have an Xbox X or S, you’ll be able to play against your PlayStation®5 friends in private matches and vice versa. Similarly if you have an Xbox One you’ll be able to play against PlayStation®4 consoles.

HUT Private Matches will not allow cross-generational or co-op play. Other HUT and WOC modes will still be using Cross-Platform Matchmaking for games. Further details about the capabilities of Cross-Platform Matchmaking are available in the FAQ.
