NHL® 19
Two of the West's best teams are featured in the EA SPORTS™ NHL® 19 Game of the Week, as the Vegas Golden Knights go up against the Nashville Predators. With a combined 226 points between these two teams last year, this is sure to be a contest full of skill. Get in the game and play the matchup before it goes down on October 30.
Backstory
Vegas took last year's season series between these teams by a total of 2-1, and in the playoffs, they were just one game away from meeting each other in the Western Conference Finals. It will be interesting to see how they match up this year, especially after Vegas added Max Pacioretty and Paul Stastny to their roster.
The Predators have a stacked blueline and will be ready for an offensive test, and if Nashville can light the lamp against Vegas, there's a good chance they'll take the season series. That's an admittedly difficult test with Marc-Andre Fleury in net for the Golden Knights, so with that in mind, let's take a look at some of the key players in this week's game.
Key Players
Marc-Andre Fleury – 87 OVR
There's little doubt as to how important Marc-Andre Fleury was for the Vegas Golden Knights last year, as the backstop finished the year with a 2.24 goals-against average and a .927 save percentage. Well-rounded with an overall rating of 87, Fleury can dictate the course of this game with his play alone.
Max Pacioretty – 86 OVR
Acquired this past offseason in a trade with the Montreal Canadiens, Vegas has added a premier scoring talent in Max Pacioretty. The powerful left winger comes with ratings that include 89 slap shot power and 90 accuracy, meaning he can put the puck in the back of the net with explosive firepower.
P.K. Subban – 88 OVR
Always a spark plug for his team, worldwide NHL 19 cover athlete P.K. Subban will be a player to watch this week as he goes up against former teammate Max Pacioretty. A defensive superstar, tremendous offensive stats of 92 slap shot power and 91 passing make P.K. one of the game's top talents.
Roman Josi – 88 OVR
Nashville captain Roman Josi stars on a blueline that is jam packed with talent, and as such, will be a vital component in securing the win. His defensive awareness rating of 92 and 90 passing round out Josi as a complete player on a team that's very difficult to score against.
