One of the big changes in Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2 is the introduction of Solo Play, which allows you to play the game on your own without entering multiplayer matches.

In our latest Solo Play walkthrough trailer, Senior Game Designer Jordan Watt talks about how some of these new features come to life in the game. 3. Choose Your Team in Solo Ops

You can now play Ops mode by yourself! Garden Warfare 2 introduces Solo Ops, the perfect way for you to experience Garden Warfare’s most popular mode, by yourself and on your own terms. You make all of the calls, including what characters will be on your team. Create and test hundreds of team combinations for both plants and zombies until you find your favorite co-op combination.

Whether you want to strategically pick four characters that can tackle a specific map, or just your favorites, you’ll be able to take exactly who you want into your games. If you’ve customized your characters to play to your style, they’ll even appear on your team exactly the way you left them!

2. Hot-Swap Between Characters

Not only can you select who will be on your team in Solo Ops, but you can also play as all of them!

Since Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2 is using the Frostbite Engine, we’ve been able to take advantage of the same technology BioWare developed for Dragon Age: Inquisition. Just like in Dragon Age, you’ll be able to swap back and forth between the other members of your team at any point during a match.

This feature opens up tons of possibilities. You could swap to a character near an objective to get into the thick of battle instantly, or to a character who can best handle a particular situation. You can also combo character abilities in creative ways. Imagine playing as Rose and creating a time warp field to slow down a group of zombies. Then, you quickly switch to the nearby Kernel Corn to call down a buttery airstrike while they’re trapped!

As an extra bonus, you’ll earn experience for each character, as long as you are controlling them. This allows you to work on progressing four characters at the same time.

1. Crazy Settings

Inspired by classic shooters, we wanted to give players even more control over their games and really ramp up just how crazy a game of Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 can be.

Crazy Settings allow you to modify the game with fun and over-the-top options:

• Low Gravity: It isn’t just for the moon! Any map will be played in low gravity.
• Infini-ammo: All characters have infinite ammo and no overheat.
• Simply Explode Mode: Characters simply explode when vanquished, “simply.”
• Ridiculously Low Health: All characters have a max of 1 health – instant vanquishes!
• Speed Boost Craziness: All characters move at a must faster rate.
• Super Crazy Knock-back Mode: Damaged characters get knocked back… like really far!

You can switch on Crazy Settings when you’re in Solo Play, Private Matches and local split screen. With these activated, your games are going to feel incredibly different. We can’t wait for you to try them out, and see what awesome combinations you come up with.
